    William V. Adams, 84 years, of 705 W. Broad street, Williamstown, died at the Pottsville Hospital on Wednesday morning. He had been admitted as a medical patient on March 10.
    Born in Willamstown, August 2, 1876, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Lucy Rothermel Adams, and resided in that community all his life. He was a member of the West Street Evangelical U. B. Church, and the United Mine Workers, Local 1550.
    Surviving are ten children, Paul, Nicholas and Robert, of Wilmington, Delaware; George, of Bristol; John, Howard and Monroe, of Williamstown; Mrs. Beulah Nace, of Wilmington; Mrs. Lucy Zimmerman, of Williamstown; Mrs. Margaret Stakem, of Tower City; one step-son, Clyde James, New Cumberland; one brother, Clayton Adams, of Williamstown. There are twenty-eight grandchildren and forty-six great-grandchlidren.
    The funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the Lyons Funeral Home, Williamstown. Services will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. William A. Miller. Interment in the Methodist cemetery.

    Samuel E. Rothermel, 75, a lifelong resident of the RD Herndon area, died at 8 :25 last night at Pottsville Hospital where he was admitted April 2. He was a retired farmer.
    Mr. Rothermel was born July 29, 1895, in Northumberland, the son of the late Lazarus and Emma Bush Rothermel. He was a member of Emanuel Wesleyan Church. Gratz, and the Klingerstown Fire Company.
    Twice married, he was preceded in death by both wives, he former Goldie Rebuck on June 6, 1952, and the former Mary Walters on July 20, 1970. Two sons, Paul and Lloyd, also preceded him in death.
    Surviving are two daughters, Roxie, wife of Paul Gesner, RD Herndon; Shirley, wife of Warren Harman, RD Lykens ; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren ; two brothers, John, RD Herndon; Norman, RD Klingerstown: four sisters, Mrs. George Bixler, Sacramento; Mrs. Marie Williard, Valley View; Mrs. Jay Phillips and Mrs. Ethel Coleman, Klingerstown.
    Funeral services Tuesday afternoon from Emanuel Wesleyan Church, Gratz, with the Rev! Paul Pierpoint officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Wesleyan Cemetery. The Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, has charge.7

    The funeral of George Washington Bixler, 77, of Star Route, Valley View, who died Saturday morning at his home after a lengthy illness, will be held Tuesday afternoon from the Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View. Burial will be in St. Andrew's United Methodist Cemetery. His pastor, the Rev. Leland H. Keemer, will officiate.
    Mr. Bixler was born Feb. 22, 1898 in Valley View, son of the late Monroe and Sarah Bower Bixler. He had been employed in the regional mines before retiring. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and Sunday School.
    Surviving are his widow, the former Minnie Rothermel; two sons, Bruce of RD1 Hegins; Bryant, Jersey Shore; one daughter, Lila, wife of Lester Welker, RD Lykens; nine grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Carl and Mrs. Irene Schwalm, both of Valley View; Mrs. Grace Miller, Hegins and Mrs. Renee Krise, Lavelle; two brothers, Guy, Valley View; Ralph, Reading.
