    Charles Adams, of Williamstown, died Tuesday at Cooper's Hospital, New Jersey.
    He was born February 29, 1888, at Williamstown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Adams and was a member of the United Brethren church.
    Besides his parents, he leaves to survive him one son, Albert, of Williamstown, the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Jacob Martz, Elmer and Roy, of Williamstown; Mrs. Harry Miller, of Pottstown; Russell, of Jersey City, N. J; Ray and Melvin, of Williamstown, and one grandson, James C. Adams.
    His funeral will take place Thursday afternoon from the home of his parents, 217 Market St., Williamstown, with interment in the Fairview cemetery. Dodson is the funeral director in charge.

    Coroner Gives Verdict Of Suicide
    Harry Adams, aged 35 years, of Williamstown, who met sudden death at the Susquehanna colliery, Summit Branch, Williamstown, Thursday morning of last week when a mine train severed his head from his body, committed the deed wilfully according to the findings of the Coroner's jury which convened on the case Friday of last week.
    Investigation and testimony given at the hearing was heard to the affect that the engineer of the mine train saw Adams some distance from the train and that only the last eight of the twenty-eight cars ran over him. After testimony was heard the coroner gave decision ot suicide.
    Adams was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rolandis Adams and was born in Williamstown March 11, 1890. He married Miss Anna Hoffman May 13, 1911, who survives with three children, Lester, Thurman and June, his parents, and the following brothers and sisters: Russell, Ray, Marlin, Lucy, (Mrs. Jacob Martz), all of Williamstown; Verna, (Mrs. Harry Miller). Pottstown.
    Fraternally Mr. Adams was a member of the P. O. S. of A. and Local No. 1650, United Mine Workers of America. The funeral was held Sundav af ternoon at 2:00 o'clock, services being conducted at the Adams horn a by the Rev. Cornwell Beamesderfer of the United Brethren Church, after which burial was made in Fairview cemetery, Williamstown.

    Herbert M. Rothermel, 91, of Minersville, passed away Tuesday afternoon at West Chester Hospice following a lengthy illness.
    Born in Primrose, he was a son of the late Milton and Edith Bueck Rothermel. He attended Minersville schools and was a lifelong Minersville resident. He worked for the former Rothermel Dairy for 42 years and was later employed by Morgan Hardware, Minersville, until retiring.
    He was a member of English Lutheran Church, Minersville, where he sang in the choir, was a director on the church council for 14 years and served as treasurer of the church. He was active in the county baseball league and enjoyed doing "Search-a-Word" puzzles.
    A devoted husband and father, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Agnes McKeone, in 1999; a daughter, Lois Lindenmuth in July; two brothers, Russell and Norman Rothermel; a sister, Dorothy Davis.
    Surviving are two daughters, Agnes, wife of Peter Farley, West Chester and Shirley Cleary and David Fischer, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Adam, Lois and Jane Lindenmuth, Angela Darlington and Dana Farley, Jeffrey and Doug Cleary and Michelle D'Agostino; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Religious services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday from Dutcavich Funeral Home, Minersville. The Rev. Paul Schaediger will officiate. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday. The family prefers contributions be sent to Pinnacle Health Home Care, 1 Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, or Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township.

    He was employed as an electrician for the former Drummetter Co., Minersville, and Losch Boiler Co., Pottsville. He was last employed in the custodial department at Minersville High School.
    Mr. Rothermel was a member of , Zion Lutheran Church, Minersville, and served on the church council for many years. He was the oldest living member and former treasurer of Rescue Fire Company, Minersville.
    A son, the Rev. Dr. David E., died Dec. 28, 1990, and a sister, Gladys Ridge, died in 1934.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Violet Komorosky, with whom he celebrated his 61st wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving; a daugh- ter-in-law, Lois Rothermel Millersburg; two grandchildren, Deborah Hirsch and Mark D. Rothermel, both of Millersburg; a nephew, Jack Ridge, whom the Rothermel's reared; three great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. . Monday in Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul A. Schaediger officiating. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township. There will be no calling hours Sunday evening. John Dutcavich Funeral Home, Minersville, is in charge of arrangements.

    Thomas A. Fitzpatrick, a longtime basketball coach in Schuylkill County, died Wednesday evening at his home in Rellly Township.
    Born in Branchdale, he was a son of the late Thomas and Julia Sweeney Fitzpatrick and had resided in the Mlnersville area most of his life.
    His coaching career Included tenures with high schools In Tremont, Rellly Township, Branch Township, Cressona, Blue Mountain and Minersville. He had also served as baseball coach at Branch Township and Minersville.
    He had guided Minersville to the South Schuylkill League championship in 1965, the second time in three years and the fourth time in his career. His Rellly Township team of 1940, his Blue Mountain team of 1958 and his Mlnersville team of 1963 were his other South Schuylkill League championship years.
    His Blue Mountain team had won the District XI Class B basketball championship during the 1957-58 season.
    He had retired from the Mlnersville Area School District faculty at the close of the 1968 school year.
    His wife, the former Mary Rothermel, died in 1953.
    Survivors Include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Seabrease, Bangor, Me., and two grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Saturday from the Mahal Funeral Home, Mlnersville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Branchdale. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park.

    Services for Margaret R. Ulmer, 80, of 8 Carbon St., Minersville, who died Monday evening at Pottsville Hospital, will be held 10 a.m. Friday from Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home, Minersville. The Rev. Lorraine Abati will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township. There will be no calling hours Thursday evening.
    Born in Minersville, she was a daughter of the late Claude F. and Helen Jones Rothermel. She was a graduate of Minersville High School and a lifelong borough resident.
    She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Minersville; Minersville Women's Club; Minersville Lionettes; and Minersville American Legion Auxiliary.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur "Pete"; a son, Claude; two sisters, Mary Fitzpatrick and Helen Bush.
    Surviving are a daughter, Gretchen Sabitsky, with whom she resided; two grandsons, Jesse and Jared Sabitsky, Minersville; nieces and nephews.
