AGED WOMAN ENDS LIFE BY HANGING IN A WAGONSHED
Despondent Over Her Ill Health, Mrs. Sarah Snyder, of Near Hebe, This County, Commits Suicide
Ms. Sarah Snyder, an old resident of in the lower end of Northumberland county, committed suicide by hanging herself in the wagonshed near her home Tuesday. The body was found by her daughter, Mrs. Adam T. Leitzel, with whom she made her home, a short time later.
Mrs. Snyder had been ill for some time and recovered a couple of days ago. She was depressed, however, which probably was the cause of her rash act. She formed a noose from a rope in the shed, fastening it to a beam and putting it about her neck, falling forward so that her knees nearly touched the floor. The body was still warm when her daughter discovered it. Deputy Coroner H. J. Evans of Sunbury went to Hebe yesterday to conduct the inquest.
The deceased was aged 70 years and is survived only by her daughter. Her husband died some time ago.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock, Rev. Krine of Urban officiating. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Hebe.
