    Daniel A. Schwalm, 81, Valley View, died at his home Thursday morning. Born in Hubley Township, November 28, 1868, he was a son of the late Daniel S. and Mary Schwalm and was a member of the United Brethren Church, Valley View.
    His wife, Nora, died in 1943 and he is survived by the following children: Fred, Mrs. Mary Updegrave, Anna and Clifford, all of Valley View; Verna and Lanston, Philadelphia; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral will be held from the H. E. Miller Funeral Home, Valley View, on Sunday afternoon, with further services in the United Brethren Church. Burial will be made in the Fearnot Cemetery. Rev. H. M. Mentzer will officiate.

    Nora, wife of Daniel Schwalm, died at her home in Valley View on Wednesday afternoon, after a short illness.
    Mrs. Schwalm was a member of the U. B. Church, of Valley View, and was born on January 12, 1871, daughter of Amos and Mary Reiner Snyder.
    She is survived by her husband and the following children: Fred and Mrs. Mary Updegrove. of Valley View, Annie, at home; Verna, Philadelphia, and Lanston, in the U. S. Army in Ausralia.     Russell T. Hepler, 68, of 425 E. Main St., Hegins, died Monday morning at his home.
    He was born in Valley View, Jan. 10, 1915, a son of the late Howard and Vada Schwalm Hepler.
    Mr. Hepier was a 1932 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School. He was a retired machinist and worked for 40 years for Philmark Manufacturing Corp., Valley View.
    He was a member of St. Matthew's (Coleman's) United Church of Christ, Spring Glen Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, and Valley View Fire Company.
    His wife, the former Marjorie Reed, died in 1952. Surviving, are two daughters, Donna, wife of Richard Williamson, Valley View, and Marjorie, wife of Paul Kaster, Towanda; three grandchildren; two brothers, Walter, Dauphin, and Eugene, Morrisville; two sisters, Irene Osman, and Jean, wife of Russell Dietrich, both of Valley View; and Helen Adams, with whom he resided.
    Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's (Coleman's) Church with the Rev. Paul Gearhart, Jonestown, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be no calling hours Tuesday evening or Wednesday. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    Surviving are two sons, Terry L. Stehr and his wife, Carol, Valley View, Craig R. Stehr and his wife, Linda, Valley View; a daughter, Susan K. Stehr and her partner, Diana Boyer, Gratz; two grandsons, Timothy L. Stehr and his wife, Barbara Feudale, Ashland, and Thomas L. Stehr, Valley View; a great-grandson, Victor V. Stehr; a great-granddaughter, Cierra Q. Stehr; a stepbrother, Russell Schade,Valley View; three stepsisters, Corrine Wolfgang, Millersburg, Violet Harris, Dornsife, and Joyce Wolfe, Berrysburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her loving poodle, Zoey.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. The family will receive guests from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View. Stehr, Valley View; a great-grandson, Victor V. Stehr; a great-granddaughter. Sierra Q. Stehr; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 21, at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.
