    B. Lila Welker, 93, formally Lykens Twp, passed away September 9, 2022 at Heather Court Memory Care, Northumberland. She was born on November 21, 1928 in Hegins Twp, a daughter of the late George W. an Minnie E (Rothermel) Bixler.
    Lila graduated form Hubley Township High School in 1946. She was a long time member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz. Lila was a member of The Willing Hands, women's group, she helped to create many quilts that were donated through the church to the needy. She was an experienced hand quilter, having created many for her family members, also she assisted in the finishing work of quilts presented through the Quilts of Valor program to veterans in the Pillow area. She loved to crochet and made many doilies and Christmas decorations.
    Surviving are a daughter, Alice (Kenneth) Troutman of Montoursville; two sons, Dennis L. Welker (Joanne Hughes) of Tucson, AZ and David L. (Marge) Welker of Klingersown; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Welker; of Spring Glenn; sister-in-law, Hannah Klinger of Harrisburg; six grandchildren Sheila and Matthew Troutman, Emily Romberger, Heather Smith, Martin Welker, Kayla and Marah Welker; five great grandchildren, Lila, Zayne, Mason, Kade and Toby and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Lester Ray Welker, whom she married on January 1, 1949, a son Douglas Ray Welker, brothers Bryant L. and Bruce L. Bixler, and a companion Donald Bucher.
    A viewing will be held on September 17, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00 am also from the Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Gratz Union Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Simeon United Lutheran Church, PO Box 478, Gratz, PA 17030.1

    Douglas R. Welker, 66, of Spring Glen, passed away peacefully the morning of July 19, 2021, with his wife by his side at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
    He was born in Lykens on July 15, 1955, a son of the late Lester Welker and Lila Welker of Northumberland.
    Doug was employed for 46 years at M.I. Windows and Doors, where he held multiple positions throughout his career, retiring in January 2021 as a forklift driver.
    On June 13, 1981, Douglas married the former Shirley A. Smith of Klingerstown, recently celebrating their 40th anniversary.
    Doug was a member of the Gratz Fire Company, Erdman Sportsman Club, Valley View Gun Club, and the Diamond Jubilee Memorial VFW Post 2385, Gratz.
    In addition to his wife and mother, Douglas is survived by two daughters, Heather Smith and companion Shane Phillips, Elizabethville; Emily Romberger and husband Kyle of Pillow; two grandsons, Zayne and Kade Romberger; a sister, Alice Troutman and husband Kenneth of Montoursville; two brothers, Dennis Welker and Joanne Hughes, AZ; David Welker and wife Marge of Klingerstown.
    A viewing will be held on Saturday July 24 2021 from 10a.m. to 11a.m. at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow.
    Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, with Rev. Robert Straub officiating.
    Interment will take place in the Union Cemetery, Gratz.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gratz Fire Company, 102 S. Center Street, Gratz, PA 17030.
    James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow is in charge of the arrangements.2
