    Bryant L. Wiest, 86, of Klingerstown, died Saturday evening at The Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg, where he had been a patient for two months.
    Born in Klingerstown, Aug. 5, 1918, he was a son of the late William Allen and Ida Mae Bowman Wiest. He was educated in Klingerstown area schools.
    He was a coal miner, welder, mechanic and plumber. In 1966, he founded and operated Wiest Heating, Klingerstown, and retired in 1979.
    He was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, and a former church council member. He was a member and former longtime fire chief of Klingerstown Fire Company and a member of the Good Sam Camping Club. In 1952, he founded the Canyon Echo Hunting Camp in Lycoming County.
    He enjoyed woodworking, camping and hunting.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie J., who died Jan. 9; a sister, Deva Miller; three brothers, William, Melvin and Roy; a half brother, Ray Knorr.
    Surviving are three sons and partners, Leslie and Betty, Gratz; Claus and Joanna, Sacramento, Larry and his friend, Sue Ellen, Hummelstown; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael's Lutheran Church. The Rev. John C. Schaertel will officiate. There will be no viewing, but visitors may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church. Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Michael's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 71, Klingerstown, PA 17941. Interment will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Klingerstown. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.1

    Born in Klingerstown, Jan. 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Fronnie Wolfgang Rothermel. She was educated in Hubley Township schools
    She was a homemaker and had been employed by the former Gratz Shirt Factory and the former Spread Eagle Farms, Klingerstown.
    She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, where she was a former member of the church council, and had served as a former council secretary, and a life member of the Good Sam Camping Club, Chapter 30, and enjoyed needle work, camping, and raising flowers.
    Surviving are her husband, Bryant L., whom she married Aug. 6, 1937; three sons and spouses, Leslie L. and Betty Wiest, Gratz, Claus M. and Joanna Wiest, Sacramento, and Larry A. Wiest and his friend Sue Ellen, Hummelstown; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepbrothers, Charles Wolfgang, Wrendale and Irwin Wolfgang, Guthrie, Okla.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Michael's Lutheran Church. The Rev. John C. Schaertel, her pastor, will officiate. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Michael's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 71, Klingerstown, PA 17941. Interment will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Klingerstown.     LYKENS -- Melvin "Red" Wiest, 64, of Lykens RD, a former coal miner, died Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. in the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, where he had been a patient since Sunday.
    Mr. Wiest had been in ill health for the past several years.
    He was of Protestant faith. He was a of the Gratz and Klingerstown fire companies; and the Erdman Sportsmen's Association.
    Born in Canada, July 2, 1912, he was a son of the late Allen and Ida Bowman Wiest.
    Surviving are his widow, the former Ellen Daniels; two sons, Gerald and Kenneth, both of Gratz; two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Long of Lebanon RD and Mrs. James Casner of Millersburg; a sister, Mrs. Calvin Miller of Hegins; two brothers, Bryant of Klingerstown and Roy of Elizabethville; a halfbrother, Ray Knorr of Klingerstown; and six grandchildren.
    The funeral will be conducted Friday in Klingerstown RD.
