Nathan A. Adams, 88, Millersburg
MILLERSBURG -- Nathan A. Adams, 88, of Medical Road, formerly of RR Herndon, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, where he lived.
He was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Jordan Township, the son of the late Henry and Emma (Goodman) Adams. He was married to the former Mabel I. Shaffer, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Adams was employed by Bethlehem Steel as a steelworker and he was a farmer before retiring.
He was a member of the Pillow Fire Company, the Dauphin County Volunteer Fireman's Association and United Steelworkers Union.
Mr. Adams was a member of David's United Church of Christ, Hebe.
Surviving are six sons, Melvin of RR2 Herndon, Jack, Robert and Steve, all of RR1 Herndon, Roy of RR3 Sunbury and Jeffrey of RR1 Dornsife; five daughters, Leona Monzuse of Riverside, Calif., Shirley Jimison of Port Trevorton, Patricia Byle of Powder Springs, Ga. Linda Leach of RR1 Sunbury and' Bonnie Klinger of RR1 Dornsife; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand child; and two sisters, Eva King and Martha Snyder, both of Lykens.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, RR Herndon. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church by the Rev. George Heberling. Burial will be in David's Church Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the memorial fund at David's United Church of Christ, RR, Herndon, Pa. 17830.

Henry D. Adams. 81, of Herndon R.D. 1, died in his sleep at his home, early Friday morning.
A native of Rebuck, he was a son of the late Aerisman andSallie Adams Adams. A retired farmer, Mr. Adams was a member of St. David's Reformed Church, Hebe.
Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Goodman; five daughters: Mrs. Roy Heberling, Orwin; Mrs. John Sallada, Tower City; Mrs. John Morgan, Dornsife R.D; Mrs. John King and Martha, both of Lykens; three sons: Mason, Herndon R.D. 1; Raymond, Dornsife R.D; Paul, Danville; one brother, Andrew, Dalmatia; 31 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Monday afternoon from St. David's Reformed Church. Rev. Jacob Singer, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Rothermel Funeral Service, of Klingerstown, has charge.

Elderly Herndon R.D. Woman Dies
Mrs. Emma Adams, 70, Herndon R. D, died in Danville State Hospital at 5:30 yesterday afternoon after an extended illness. She had been a hospital patient since November, 1957.
A daughter of the late Nathan and Sarah (Byerly) Goodman, Mrs. was born November 12, 1887, in Herndon. She was a member of St. David's Lutheran Church, Hebe. Her husband, Henry Adams, preceded her in death in October, 1957.
Survivors include the following children: Mrs. Roy Hebberling, Orwin; Nathan, Herndon, R. D.: Mrs. John Salada, and Paul Adams, Tower City: Mrs. John Morgan and Ray, Adams, Dornsife R. D. and Mrs. John King, and Martha Adams, Lykens. Surviving, also, are 32 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, John C. Goodman, Baltimore, and three sisters, Mrs. German Straub, Herndon R. D; Mary Webber, Llewelyn; Mrs. William Starr, Dalmatia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Lutheran Church, Hebe, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Paul Billow. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown R. D., Friday evening and at the church from 10:00 Saturday morning until time of services.
