    Mrs. Sallie Schwalm, nee Klinger, wife of Morris Schwalm, residing along Route 443, Suedberg, died suddenly at her home last Sunday morning. Deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elias Klinger. She was identified with the Church of God, Suedberg.
    To survive besides her husband. Morris, are these children: Mrs. Luella Newcomer, of Shenandoah; Mrs. Kate Daubert [Deichert], Mrs. Minerva Ditzler and Ray, of Suedberg; Geo., Lebanon; also these three sisters, and three brothers, Mrs. Lucy Jones, Suedberg; Mrs. Kate Wolfe, Green Point; Mrs. Mary Fake, Reading; Wilson, Harry and George Klinger, Suedberg. There are also ten grandchildren.
    The funeral was held from the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Pine Grove, yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with further services at Suedberg Church of God and interment in the cemetery adjoining. Rev. Ammon Siple, her pastor, officiated.

    He was a retired state employee, a life member of Lower Mahoney Fire Company and Hickory Corners Fire Company, and was a member of Stone Valley Lutheran Church near Dalmatia.
    Surviving are his wife, Linnie L Schaffner; six daughters, Loyetta F. Troutman, Donna L. Reisch and Ethel M. Coleman, all of Millersburg, Barbara N. Strohecker of Herndon, June W. Lietzel of Harrisburg, and Sandra R. Witmer of Millersburg RD; nine sons, Mark E., Merle L., Fairvan K., Clyde R., Neil O., Sherwood N., Deri R., and Dean A., all of Dalmatia, and Haven M. of Gratz; 46 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren
    and great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in his church with the Rev. John Grill, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg, by the Rev. Luke Keefer. Burial will be in Stone Valley Cemetery, Dalmatia RD.

    Mark E. "Bearcat" Schaffner, 81, of R.R. #1 Dalmatia, PA, died Sunday, September 11, 2005 at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
    He was born September 16, 1923 in Dalmatia, a son of the late Carmie E. Schaffner and Linnie I. (Long) Schaffner.
    He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Co., Steelton and was a member of Trinity U.C.C. Church, Dalmatia.
    He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy; was a life member of Lower Mahanoy Fire Co; a former trustee of his church; and a member of the Dalmatia Cemetery Association. He was an avid hunter and loved to work with wood.
    Surviving are his wife, Esther B. (Bellis) Schaffner; sons, Randy, husband of Judy Schaffner, Steven, husband of Robin Schaffner, all of Dalmatia, Keith, husband of Kathy Schaffner of Lebanon, and Kim Schaffner of Dalmatia; brothers, Merle Schaffner of Elizabethville, Fairvan, Clyde, Neal and Sherwood Schaffner, all of Dalmatia, Haven Schaffner of Gratz, Derl and Dean Schaffner, both of Dalmatia; sisters, Loyetta Troutman of Millersburg, June Leitzel of Harrisburg, Ethel Coleman of Millersburg, Barbara Strohecker of Herndon, Donna Reisch and Sandra Witmer, both of Millersburg; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Melva.
    Religious service will be held at Trinity U.C.C. Church, Dalmatia, PA at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14th, with Rev. Ellen Clement officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial in Dalmatia Cemetery.
