  • According to the History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, Elias enlisted in Company B, Pennsylvania 93rd Infantry Regiment as a private. He mustered out on 27 July 1865 at Washington, DC.
  • He married Emma Warner, daughter of John Warner and Elizabeth (?), circa 1868.1,4
  • In 1880 Census, Elias and his wife Emma were living in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County, PA, where Elias was a grist miller.     Civil War Veteran Passes Away
    Elias Klinger, well known farmer and miller, of Outwood, died of complications incident to his advanced age at his home last Sunday evening, Apr. 3, at 6:20 o'clock. He was born on Dec. 2, 1844, passing to his eternal rest at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 1 day. He lived in this section his entire lifetime. Surviving are 4 daughters and 3 sons as follows: Mrs. Morris Schwalm, Mrs. Harry Fake, Mrs. Ella Wolfe and Mrs. Lucy Jones; Wilson, Harry and George Klinger; one brother, Isaac, all residing in that section.
    The funeral took place this Thursday forenoon at 10 o'clock from his late home, where services were conducted by Rev. E. R. Yoder, of Suedburg. The pallbearers were Paul and Ralph Klinger, George Schwalm, Clarence Wolfe, Clarence Fake, and Edward Jones. Interment was made in the Suedburg Church of God cemetery.
