    Dr. Fake, Native of Co., Dies
    Few men accomplish in life what Dr. Warren H. Fake has done, and when the inevitable occurs few have left so much for so many.
    Dr. Fake died Friday of a stroke at the age of 74. For most of those years he dedicated his life to helping others.
    A resident of 451 N. Maple Street, Ephrata, he began his practice there in September of 1928.
    He was born in Union Township in Lebanon County, the son of the late Elmer and Annie Ditzler Fake. He was married to the former Mable A. Long.
    Dr. Fake graduated from the old Jonestown High School and later Lebanon Valley College. He studied medicine at Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, and did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.
    Hospital Founder
    A founder of the Ephrata Community Hospital, he was also instrumental in forming the borough of Ephrata's first ambulance. He also delved into business outside the medical field and was the founder and at the time of his death, president of a nationally known clothing manufacturer.
    He was honored by the Hahnemann Medical College in 1970, receiving the distinguished alumni award and this spring he also received the distinguished alumni award from Lebanon Valley College, of which he was a former trustee.
    Dr. Fake was active in a host of social, fraternal and civic organizations in his community. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the F&AM Mount Olivet Lodge, Lebanon, a past potentate of the Rajah Temple Shrine and the Lancaster County Shrine Club.
    He was a past commander of American Legion Post 429 and a founder of the Ephrata Amvets.
    He also held memberships in the Ephrata Cocalico Post 4376 VFW. A veteran, Dr. Fake served in World War I and II when he was discharged from the medical corps with the rank of captain.
    He was a former member of the Ephrata Borough Council and was a director of the Ephrata National Bank.
    He was a member of the First United Church, Ephrata. Dr. Fake was stricken ill last Saturday morning while attending a seminar at the Hershey Medical Center. He was treated in the hospital's intensive care unit, but later suffered a relapse.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Margaret A., wife of Guy Enck, Honey Brook; Elaine G., wife of Lloyd R. Hackman, Akron; Joan E., wife of Melvin R. Sweigart, Ephrata and Tess M., wife of Leon I. Wolf, Ephrata and 12 grandchildren.
