    He is survived by his wife, Lydia A. Klinger Trumbo, two daughters, Mae, wife of Lester Stamm, Jonestown, and Amy, wife of James Harman, Brooklyn, N.Y.

    Lester T. Rhoad, 95, of the Water Bridge at Pine Grove and formerly of Grantville, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2006, at the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Bessie A. Klinger Rhoad.
    Born in East Hanover Township, on May 19, 1911, he was the son of the late Jacob L. and Ida E. Seaman Rhoad. He retired in 1976 from Hershey Foods. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Grantville, the Annville American Legion, Grantville Fire Co. and the Grantville Grange. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, gardening and growing Christmas trees. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific.
    He is survived by a son John R. Klinger and his wife Corrine of Pine Grove; a daughter Grace A. Bretz of Riverview, Fla; a brother Luther Rhoad of Grantville; a sister Eva Colyer of Annville; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Grantville In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his church at P.O. Box 275, Grantville, PA 17028.4,5

    Despondent because he was out of work, a Pine Grove R. D. 2, man, father of six children, ended his life about 4:30 a. m. Wednesday, with a shot gun on the lawn outside his home.
    Schuylkill Haven State Police said Herman P. Klinger, 46, residing on the Sweet Arrow road, Washington Township, had been worrying for some time.
    His wife, Pearl told the officers that about 4:30 a. m, she heard a shot and looking out the side window saw her husband's body lying on the lawn.
    A 12 gauge shot gun was found by his body. He had been shot in the head. The investigation is being continued.
    A native of Union Township, Mr. Klinger was a son of the late Harry and Mabel Klinger. He was formerly employed as a miner.
    Surviving are his wife, Pearl; six children, Larry, Gary, Karen, June, Joan and Judy, all at home and six sisters, Mrs. Sarah Eby, Pine Grove; Mrs. Lydia Grumbo, Labanon [sic]; Mrs. Irene Becker and Mrs. Helen Peterson, both, of Chicago, Ill; Erla, Wernersville and Mrs. Betty Rhoads, Grandville.
    Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H. L. Snyder Funeral Service, Pine Grove, has charge.

    Judy P. "Toots" Klinger, 58, of Division Street, Pine Grove, passed away on Monday morning at home.
    Born in Pottsville, July 21, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Herman P. and Pearl G. Krause Klinger. She was a 1966 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
    She was employed as a grill cook at McDonalds', Pine Grove.
    She was affiliated with Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
    She was an avid crafter and an excellent seamstress.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Klinger.
    Surviving are three sisters, Joan M. Bailey Harrisburg, Karen J. Klinger, Hershey and June E. Kling, Pine Grove; a brother, Larry Klinger, Pine Grove.
    Services will be held at the convenience of the family The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be given to the American Cancer Society, 16 N. Fourth St., Minersville, PA 17954. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

    In the other accident which occurred at 7:20 a.m., Gary L. Klinger, 20, Walter St., Pine Grove, was fatally injured on Sweet Arrow Lake Road near Roderrsville. Klinger drove from a private driveway and headed west on Route 53004 toward Pine Grove.
    He traveled one-half mile at a high rate of speed when his vehicle struck a tree four feet from the road. The operator was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Kurt Hortiner.

    Man Killed When Car Hits Tree
    A Pine Grove man was killed yesterday morning when his car struck a tree near Roedersville in Pine Grove Township.
    Dead is Gary Lee Klinger, 20, 11 Division St., Pine Grove. His death was caused by a skull fracture and multiple injuries, according to Clark Snyder, deputy county coroner.
    According to Schuylkill Haven state police, Klinger pulled out of a private driveway about 7:15 a.m. and was traveling west on Sweet Arrow Lake Road at a high rate of speed. His car went out of control about a half-mile down the road and struck a tree four feet from the edge of the roadway. The car was totally demolished.
    Klinger was pronounced dead on the scene by Dr. Kurt Hortiner, Pine Grove.
    He was the son of Pearl Krause Klinger and the late Herman P. Klinger, Pine Grove, and a member of Hetzels United Church of Christ, Pine Grove.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Larry P. Klinger; four sisters, Judy P., Karen J., June E. Klinger, and Mrs. Joan M. Bailey, all of Pine Grove.

    Mrs. Mary E. Minnich, 23 W. Mill St., Pine Grove, died May 15 in Spangcrest Nursing Home, Lebanon, at the age of 87. She was the widow of Clinto W. Minnich, who died in April, 1974.
    A daughter of the late Adam and Adelia Klinger Long, Mrs. Minnich was a member of the Outwood Lutheran Church and the Swatara Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Tremont.
    Survivors include a son, Clarence, Ephrata; a daughter, Mrs. Ada Schwartz, Pine Grove; a sister, Mrs. Eva Kauffman, Ephrata; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    Her funeral took place on Wednesday morning from the Snyder Funeral Home, followed by bruial in Outwood Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Clark W. Kuntz II conducted the services.
