    Lee A. "Pap" Riegel, 87, of 492 Fearnot Road, Sacramento, passed away early Sunday morning.
    Born in Gratz, Aug. 6, 1923, he was a son of the late Harry and Bertha Scheib Riegel.
    Lee was a graduate of the former Gratz Area School and Williamsport Tech.
    He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving in Bismarck Archipelago, New Guinea and the Philippines liberation.
    He was a retired carpenter with Mark Saultzbaugh Carpentry, Millersburg, and was a machinist with Brubakers, Millersburg.
    He was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot; Sacramento and Valley View fire companies; Valley View Gun Club; Valley View American Legion Post 575 and a life member of the Gratz VFW.
    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Miriam Shade Riegel, in 1999; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Griffiths; a granddaughter; two sisters, Avis Gotschall and Mary Snyder; and a brother, Paul Riegel.
    Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Riegel Griffiths-Zechman and her husband, James, Sacramento; a grandson, Michael Griffiths and his wife, Wendi, Gratz; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gracie and Ella Griffiths; a sister, Hannah Riegel Bradley.
    Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Fearnot, with the Rev. William Danis officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Peter's UM Church, Church Road, Sacramento, PA 17968.

    Hannah S. Bradley, 85, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 27, 2011. Born on July 13, 1925, on her family's farm in Gratz, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Riegel. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Frantz, and her second husband, Glenn H. Bradley, a daughter, Anita Shirley, a granddaughter, Lauren Frantz, and her two brothers, Paul and Lee Riegel, and her two sisters, Avis Gotschall and Mary Snyder.
    Hannah graduated from Hegins High School. After high school, she worked as a seamstress until she was married. Later, she worked for the Elizabethtown Area School District as a library aid and secretary. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping and fall foliage drives. She looked forward each year to attending the annual Lancaster-Lebanon League Outstanding Football Player awards banquet and presenting the William T. Frantz award, named in honor of her first husband, to each season's recipient.
    She is survived by her two sons, William C. Frantz of Manon, Massachusetts, and Thomas C. Frantz of Andover, New Hampshire, daughters-in-law, Cherie, wife of William Frantz, and Renee, wife of Thomas Frantz, and three grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah and Caleb Frantz.
    Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Hannah at the United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown on Sunday, March 13 at 3:00 PM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the church from 2:00 until the time of service.
    Appreciation is extended to Hospice of Lancaster County and to the caregivers with Special Care of Lancaster.

    He was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and Shippensburg University.
    He served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Apollo.
    He was a Biology and Physics teacher for many years at Upper Dauphin School District prior to his retirement.
    He was a member of PSERS, Gratz Historical Society, Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art, and the Gratz VFW.
    Ralph was an avid fisherman and photographer and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a local expert in biology; many people sought out his opinion to identify various plants and animals. He was a pitcher in the former Gratz Baseball League.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers Louis Knohr, Alan Knohr, and Earl Knohr, and by three sisters Mary Knohr, Ruth Huntsinger, and Alice Herb.
    He is survived by sister Janet Evans of Germantown, TN; seven nieces and three nephews.
    Services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, January 27, 2012, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
    There will be no viewing or visitation.
    Burial will be made in Union Cemetery, Gratz.
    Memorial contributions can be made to Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art, 176 Water Company Road, Millersburg PA 17061.
