• While serving as a radioman in US Navy aboard the USS Appling, Lloyd witnessed an atomic bomb test in teh Bikini Atoll on July 25, 1946. He sent home a picture of the bomb exploding above the water.⁴

  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Jackie Rabuck.
  Surviving are his wife, Mae Ossman Rabuck, to whom he was married 47 years; a devoted father to his son, Jason T. Rabuck, at home; three broth ers, James and Donald Rabuck, both of Tower City, and Gurney, Williamstown; four sisters, Bertha Weaver, Muir, Edith Rabuck, Tower City, Doris Wetzel, Ashland, and Joyce Schaeffer, Nottingham; nieces and nephews.
  A Celebration of Bill's life will be held on his birthday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Robert Straub officiating.   Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Robert Straub officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Muir. • At the time of the 1920 Census, Vernon and his wife Eva were living in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, where Vernon was working at a coal mine. They had 1 daughter, Annie.⁴
