    Lester H. Kimmel
    Lester H. Kimmel, 80, of 71 Clay St. Tremont, known best to his kin, neighbors and friends as "Pete," died in Pottsville Hospital Monday afternoon. In ill health for several months, he entered the hospital for surgery on August 2.
    Born in Lincoln, Tremont Township, he was a, son of the late John and Mary Ann Fessler Kimmel. He was married to the former Bertha Allspach 51 years ago, and lived in Tremont for the past 44 years, moving here from Joliett.
    Mr. Kimmel wasa faithful member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. Employed for 20 years as a lerk in the Tremont Hardware Company store his last employment v as a hoisting engineer for the Koppenhaver Coal Co., Tremont.
    Surviving are his wife; two sons. Milton and Robert, both of Tremont; two daughters, Doris, wife of Howard Koppenhaver, Tremont, and Evelyn, wife of Fred Long, Pine Grove; one brother, John Kimmel, Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
    His funeral was held at two o'clock this afternoon, with services in the Minnig Funeral Home conducted by his pastor, the Rev. George B. Carven, and interment in the Reformed church Cemetery, Tremont.
    Pallbearers were: David, Joseph, Karl and Kenneth Kimmel, James Long William Shepler.

    Mrs. Bertha M. Kimmel 88, of 71 Clay St., Tremont, died at her home Saturday morning.
    She was born in Tremont, a daughter of the late Milton and Katie Nagle Allspach and was a lifelong resident of Tremont.
    Her husband Lester died in 1967.
    Mrs. Kimmel was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tremont.
    Surviving are two sons, Milton and Robert of Tremont; two daughters, Doris, wife of Howard Koppenhaver, Tremont and Evelyn, wife of J. Fred Long, Pine Grove; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held Wednesday morning from the W.E. Minnig Funeral Home, Tremont with the Rev. George Carvell of St. Peter's Church officiating. In[t]erment will be in the Reformed Cemetery, Tremont. There will be no calling hours Tuesday evening.
