    Mrs. Ellsworth Schwalm, aged 52 years, nee Emma Saltzer, died at her home at Valley View after a two weeks' illness of rheumatic fever. [T]he funeral was held on, Wednesday forenoon, with burial in the U. B. cemetery, Rev.
    H. M. Mentzer officiating.
    The deceased had been an active member of the United Brethren Sunday school and Church, and a woman of sterling christian character. She is survived by her husband, her father, William O. Saltzer, and the following children: Gurney and Millard at Valley View; Alma, wife of Daniel Willard, Perry, Iowa; Hattie, wife of Leroy Keisling, Tower City; Harvey, Houston, Texas; Beatrice, Lillian and Gladys at home.
    The following brothers and sisters also survive: James Saltzer, Indianapolis; Harvey Austin Saltzer, Sacramento; Mrs. Elmer Shoop, Enterline; Mrs. Geo. Minnich, Hegins; and Mrs. Ed. Scott at Lynn, Mass., also six grandchildren.

    Services for Wilson E. Schwalm, 80, of Sacramento, who died Sunday afternoon at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Feb. 9, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from St. Paul's United Church of Christ Church, Sacramento, with the Revs. Winfield E. Engler, Palmyra, and Donald Morgan, Sunbury, officiating. Interment will be in Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Weishample. There will be no calling hours Wednesday evening. Stephen R. Rothermal Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
    Prior to entering the hospital, he had been a resident of .Tremont Nursing Home since Nov. 24.
    Born in Valley View, Oct 20, 1912, he was a son of the late Gurney and Mary Shale Schwalm. He attended Hegins Township schools.
    Mr. Schwalm was a retired coal miner, having last been employed by the former Morgan and Harner Coal Co., Valley View, retiring in 1960.
    He was a member of St Paul's UCC, a charter member of Sacramento Community Fire Company and a member of Tri-Valley His-torial Society and Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, both of Valley View.
    His first wife, the former Arlene Morgan, died Sept 23, 1973, and his second wife, the former Dorothy Rothermel, died Feb. 26, 1991.
    Surviving are a daughter, Diane Ressler, Valley View; a son, Walter R., Hegins; three brothers, Mark, Lykens, and George and Frank, both of Valley View; three sisters, Catherine Warfield, Tower City, Emma Stokes, Valley View, and Mary Runkle, Spring Glen; five grandchildren.

    Catherine was a 1933 graduate of Hegins Twp. High School.
    She was a homemaker and assisted her late husband Lee in operating the former Esso/Exxon gas station in Reinerton for 40 years.
    She was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton and its women's organization. She was also a member of the former Porter Tower Flower Club.
    She enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family, who will deeply miss her.
    She was pre-deceased by her husband Lee "Sully" Warfield, 2003; an infant son Kenneth; four brothers, Wilson, George, Mark and Frank Schwalm, two sisters, Emma Stokes and Mary Jane Runkle.
    She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Thompson, widow of Gray Thompson, Reinerton; Carol Tallman and her husband George, Tower City and Ellen Barkos and her husband Mike, Williamstown. Five grandchildren, Darryl Thompson, Michelle Flynn, Carla Wynn, Terri Cathers and Nicole Corallo; six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2nd, from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Charles Oldland. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m., at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family from the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to her church, 1931 Wiconisco Street, Reinerton, PA 17980.     He was born on Nov. 14, 1919, in Valley View, a son of the late Gurney Schwalm and the late Mary Shadle Schwalm.
    He was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
    He retired as a clerk for Midway Supermarket, Valley View. He and his wife had owned and operated a grocery store in Valley View. George enjoyed providing mobile grocery service to many area residents. He had also worked for the former Bud Kimmel General Store, Valley View.
    He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
    He was also a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, a member and former director of the Johannes Schwalm Historical Association Inc., and a life member of the Valley View Fire Company.
    George enjoyed research ing the Schwalm genealogy. He had traveled to the Schwalm homeland in Germany while doing his research.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Evelyn Schwalm, on Dec. 13, 2007. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Wilson, Frank and Mark Schwalm; and two sisters, Mary Jane Runkle and Emma Stokes.
    He is survived by a sister, Catherine Warfield, Schoolyard Square, and several nieces and nephews.
    Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Carl Shankweiler and the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O.
