    Lloyd Hiram Donton, 68, of 1449 W. Main St., Valley View, was found dead in the Newport area Saturday morning. Coroner Steve Barninger of Duncannon attributed death to natural causes. Mr. Donton had been at his cottage at the Juniata R'iver area.
    He had been a miner and was a retired employee of Philmark Manufcturing Corp., Valley View.
    Mr. Donton was born in Orwin, July. 7, 1912$ a son of the late Raymond and Clara Minnich Donton.
    He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
    Surviving are his wife., the former Hilda Schwalm; a daughter, Carol, wife of Richard Artz, Valley View'; two grandchildren; two sisters, Helen, wife of Woodrow Epler, Campbelltown, and Miriam, wife of Donald Brower, Muir; two brothers, Fred Sr., Orwin, and Leroy, Tower City.
    Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at St. Andrew's Church. Valley View. The Rev. Leland Keemer will officiate. Interment will be n St. Andrew's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours Monday evening. Arthur R. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    Charles Lindberg "Lindy" Runkle, 76, of 1532 W. Maple St., Valley View, died Monday at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
    Born in Spring Glen, May7, 1927, he was a son of the late Chester G. and N. Pauline Schwalm Runkle.
    He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
    He retired as a mechanic and driver inspector at the New Cumberland Army Depot. He was also a coal miner, and also worked at the former Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown.
    He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Spring Glen, where he was a secretary for more than 40 years, a former trustee, lay leader and cemetery board member, and a member of FOAM Valley Lodge 797, Valley View, Harrisburg Consistory.
    Preceding him in death was a brother, Daniel H.
    Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Irene Laura Long; a son, Larry A., Gales Ferry, Conn; two daughters, Diane C. Harder, Phoenixville, and Wendy B. Mervine, Bel Air, Md; a brother, James L., Spring Glen; a sister, Dorothy L. Runkle, Harrisburg; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. The Rev. William Danis will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Spring Glen. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    Services for Pauline N. Runkle, 82, of Spring Glen, who died Thursday evening at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, where she had been a patient for two weeks, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Spring Glen. The Rev. James Hiester will officiate. There will be no calling hours tonight. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
    Born in Spring Glen, July 25, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Florence Schaeffer Schwalm. She was educated in Hubley Township schools.
    Mrs. Runkle was last employed at the former Big Yank Manufacturing Co., Millersburg, retiring in 1971. She had been previously employed by the former Starr Poultry, Valley View.
    She was a member of St. Mark's UM Church, and its United Methodist Women, Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, and Valley View and Sacramento Fire Company auxiliaries.
    Her husband, Chester G., died Jan. 2, 1964, and a granddaughter, Sharon Sue Runkle, died in October 1964.
    Surviving are three sons, James, Spring Glen, Charles, Valley View, and Daniel, Halifax; a daughter, Dorothy Runkle, Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

    She was born on Monday, November 7, 1960, in Pottsville, a daughter of the late William R Hoffman and the late Marian A (Stutzman) Hoffman.
    She was a 1978 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
    Robyn was a volunteer for Upper Dauphin Human Services. She also was a supporter of sea turtle conservation and loved taking trips to Mexico. Her most important thing in her life was spending time and caring for her grandchildren.
    Her husband William D Geist, passed away in 2013.
    She is survived by two daughters, Angela M Jusinski and her husband Robert of Ashland, and Kristi L Duffy and her husband Thomas of Blandon; three grandsons, Bryce Bossler, Noah Duffy, and William Jusinski; a granddaughter, Bella Rodichok; bonus grandchildren, Luke Jusinski and Gemma Berger; two sisters, Cynthia Stutzman of Dauphin and Linda Stahl and her husband Glenn of Collegeville.
    Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating.
    Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

    Mabel was born in Pitman, on March 20, 1923, a daughter of the late Lizzie (Rebuck) and Victor Y. Reiner.
    She attended the Pine Park High School and worked in several local garment factories, Muskin Shoe Factory and Mandata Poultry.
    She was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown
    Mabel's family was the most important aspect of her life. She enjoyed cooking family meals, gardening, canning, playing cards and quilting.
    Mabel is survived by a a son,Dennis, husband of Cindy Starr, of Fearnot, daughter, Christine, wife of James Gessner, of Leck Kill; 8 Grandchildren, Randyl Wedde, Stephen Miller, Barbara Huntsinger, LaRee Hoffman, Troy Starr, Peggy Snyder, and Curtis and Benjamin Gessner; 8 great grandchildren, Kirby Huntsinger, Joel Miller, Kari King, Morganne Starr, Tyler Starr, Hilary Snyder, Sara Hoffman, Darryl Crouthermel; 8 great great grandchildren, Julia and Brennan Huntsinger, Carson and Caroline King, Willow and Briar Miller, Violet and Iris Crouthermel, as well as nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Russell W Starr, who passed away December 7, 1994; two daughters, Marie Miller and Beverly Wedde; two sisters, Katie Reiner and Ruby Mullen; four brothers Charles, Daniel, Harry, and John Reiner; and her companion Clarence (Quelly) Brosious.
    A Celebration of Life Service will be held when such gatherings are permissible.
    The family wishes to thank her special nurse, April Kroh and the caregivers of Premier at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg for their care and support over the past 3 years.

    HERNDON -- A 37-yearold RD1 Herndon woman, a native of Klingerstown, died at 2:45 Friday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash about 9 Thursday morning on Route 147,near her home.
    Mrs. Marie V. Miller, wife of Larry H. Miller, died from head injuries and multiple trauma, according to Northumberland County Assistant Coroner James Rodenhaver.
    Shamokin state police said Mrs. Miller was driving north on Route 147 when her car struck a tractor-trailer operated by John A. Orlick, 44, Schuylkill Haven, who was turning into a restaurant parking lot. Police said that as the truck went in front of Mrs. Miller's car, she was unable to stop in time and the left front of her car struck the right front of the tractor-trailer.
    Mrs. Miller was taken to Geisinger Jby the Dalmatia Ambulance Service after being trapped in her car for more than an hour before being removed by police and firemen.
    Mrs. Miller was born Nov. 30, 1941, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Starr, RD Klingerstown. She was employed as a sales agent for Park Leitzel Insurance , Agency, Herndon. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins. and the Women's Missionary Society of Grace Community and Evangelical Free Church, Mandata.
    Surviving, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Stephen L.. stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. Wichita. Kan; a daughter, LaRee, at home; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Beverly N. Wedde, Weishample, Christine A. Starr. RD Klingerstown, and Dennis E. Starr. RD Hegins, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie Reiner. Dornsife.
    Services will be held Monday morning in Grace Community and Evangelical Free Church; Mandata. with the Rev. Arnold ; Hannerberg officiating. Burial win be in St. Peter's United Methodist Cemetery. Fearnot. The Hoover Funeral Home, 118 S. Market St., Millersburg, has charge of arrangements.

    ASHLAND -- The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's United Church of Christ (Kimmel's Church), Ashland RD1, for Mrs. Beverly Starr Wedde, 40, Ashland RD1.
    The Rev. Warren Riedel of Mountain Springs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Friends and relatives may call in the Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, after 6 p.m. today and in the church Tuesday from noon until time of the service.
    Mrs, Wedde died Friday at 6: 15 p.m. in the Reading Hospital, where she was a patient for six days. She had been in ill health for the past three years.
    Born in Pitman, Nov. 9, 1938, she was a daughter of Russell and Mabel Reiner Starr of Klingerstown. In 1956, she married Boyd Wedde who survives.
    Mrs. Wedde was a member of St. John's Uuited Church of Christ (Kimmel's Church, Ashland RD1, the Women's Guild of the church and a former Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of Barry PTA.
    She was a 1956 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
    Mrs. Wedde was employed at Valley View Enterprises, Valley View, prior to her illness.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three children, Mrs. Barbara Huntsinger of Valley View, Randy and Peggy Wedde, both at home; one grandson; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie Reiner of Domsife RD; one brother, Dennis Starr of Hegins RDI; and one sister. Miss Christine Starr of Klingerstown RD. A sister, Mrs. Marie Miller, died March 1. 1979.

    Dennis E Starr, age 74, of Fearnot, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at his residence..
    He was born on Thursday, September 20, 1945, in Rough and Ready, a son of the late Russell W Starr and the late Mabel H Reiner Starr.
    He was a 1963 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
    He was a Sergeant in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
    Dennis retired from Honeywell, Mar Lin, in 2001.
    He was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready.
    He was also a lifetime member of Gratz VFW Post 2385.
    Dennis loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, and by two sisters, Marie Miller and Beverly Wedde.
    He is survived by his wife Cindy J Gilbert Starr, to whom he was married for twenty-nine years.
    He is also survived by a son, Troy D Starr and his wife Georgina of Valley View; a grandson, Tyler C Starr of Valley View; a granddaughter, Morganne C Starr of Asheville, NC; a sister, Christine Gessner and her husband James of Leck Kill; and several nieces and nephews.
    Following Dennis's request, there will be no services.
