    Services for Edwin W. Knorr, 89, of Spring Glen, formerly of the Erdman area, who died Friday at Pottsville Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning from Zion (Klinger's) Lutheran Church, Erdman. The Rev. Walter Hafer Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
    Born in RD1 Klingerstown, April 2, 1902, he was a son of the late William Ammon and Jane Erdman Knorr. He was educated in Klingerstown Area schools.
    He was a farmer until retiring in 1967.
    Mr. Knorr was a member of Zion (Klinger's) Lutheran Church; Klingerstown and Gratz Fire companies; Erdman Sportsman's Association; and Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, Valley View.
    His wife, the former Meta Klinger, died in 1977. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Bryant Klinger and Ray Knorr; a daughter, Elsie Williard; three sisters, Edna Ramberger, Mae Schaffner and Jennie Paul.
    Surviving are two sons, Wallace Knorr, Spring Glen, with whom he resided, and Dean Knorr, RD1 Lykens; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granchildren.

    LYKENS - Bryant E. Klinger, 65, Lykens RD1, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday morning at Sunbury Community Hospital. He had been in ill health for the past six years.
    Born in Klingerstown Feb. 10, 1923, he was a son of Edwin Knorr of Lykens RD1 and the late Meta (Klinger) Knorr. In 1943 he married the former Hilda G. Herb.
    Mr. Klinger was a retired coal miner, having last been employed by the Bush Coal Co., Good Spring, until retiring in 1982.
    He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman; American Legion, Lykens; Gratz Area Fire Company; Valley View Fire Company; Hegins fire Company; Gratz Area Senior Citizens; Erdman Sportsman's Association; and National Rifle Association. He was a life member of the VFW, Gratz, and the VFW, Valley View.
    He was a veteran of World War II.
    In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by one son, Roland C. of Spring Glen; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bucher of Elizabethville RD1; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two brothers, Wallace Knorr of Spring Glen and Dean Knorr of Lykens RD1.
    A sister and a brother preceded him in death.
    The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, by the Rev. Walter L. Hafer Jr. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
    Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday in the funeral home.

    Born in Lykens Township, July 9, 1932, he was a son of the late Edwin W. and Meta M. Klinger Knorr.
    He was a coal miner and a farmer. He had worked in numerous area coal mines prior to his retirement.
    He was a member of Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman. Wally was also a life member of Elks Lodge 356, Mount Carmel.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dean Knorr, Ray Knorr and Bryant Klinger; a sister, Elsie Williard.
    Surviving are his wife, Laura E. Herb Knorr, to whom he was married for 62 years; a son, Lennard E. Knorr and his wife, Karen, Dillsburg; two daughters, Virginia E. Knorr and her companion, Joan Krick, Northumberland, and Julie D. Derck and her husband, Rick, Shamokin; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman, with the Rev. Jonathon Jenkins officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery, Erdman. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    He was a 1959 graduate of Upper Dauphin High School and a 1964 graduate of Penn State University, with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural education.
    Dean retired in 1999, after 35 years as an agricultural teacher in the Line Mountain School District and was a life long farmer.
    He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Erdman.
    Dean was an avid hunter and enjoyed reading, traveling, and history.
    In addition to his wife, Dianne, he is survived by one daughter, Kate Knorr of Springfield, Va., and her fiance, Michael Neely, one brother, Wallace Knorr, of Valley View, and nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bryant Klinger and Ray Knorr, and one sister, Elsie Williard.
    Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Jan Mills officiating.
    Burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Erdman.

    Hilda was born in Rebuck, on June 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Ida M. and Edwin L. Herb.
    She attended Red Cross Area schools and was employed as a cutter at the former Johnson Bailey Factory in Millersburg.
    Hilda was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2385 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed flowers and taking care of her flower beds.
    She was the widow of Bryant E. Klinger, who died September 5, 1988.
    She is survived by a daughter, Patricia, wife of Kevin Bucher, of Lykens; a son, Roland C. Klinger and his wife Gladys, of Spring Glen; six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
    Hilda is also survived by three sisters, Minerva Starr, Laura Knorr and June Shade.
    She was preceded in death by brothers, Edwin, Charles, Lee and Preston Herb and sisters, Mary Bordner, Bertha Snyder, Verna Spade, Violet Deibert, Carlene Faber and Alice Wertz.
    Services are private at the convenience of family.

    Roland Charles Klinger, 76, of Spring Glen, passed away Sunday, April 4, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
    Roland was born Oct. 20, 1944, in Lykens Township, a son of the late Hilda (Herb) and Bryant Klinger.
    He was the husband of Gladys Ann Klinger, who survives him. They were married for 56 years.
    A member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, he worked as a coal miner for 50 years retiring in 1990.
    Roland was a member of two hunting lodges, Middle Mountain Camp, Potter County, and Spruce Springs Camp, Mifflin County.
    In addition to his wife, Gladys, Roland is survived by two daughters, Sherry Keller, of Pillow, and Sheila Adams, of Tremont; a sister, Patricia Buecker, of Lykens. He is also survived by one grandson, Randall Reed.

    Services for Melvin H. Williard, 81, of 105 Fearnot Road, Lykens, formerly of RR1 Kllngerstown, who died Monday at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, RR1 Erdman, Lykens. The Rev. Joel Petruschke will officiate. Interment will be In Zlon Lutheran Cemetery, RR1 Erdman, Lykens. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Kllngerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
    Born In Greenbrier, Oct. 30, 1919, he was a son of the late Harvey and Carrie Snyder Williard. He was educated in the Hubley Township schools.
    He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired coal miner and was last employed as a construction worker and farmer for the former Spread Eagle Farms, Klingerstown, retiring in J972.
    He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2385, Lykens Township, a member of Klingerstown Fire Company and Erdman Sportsman's Association.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Elsie J. Boyer, on April 11, 1957; two daughters, Geraldine Williard, in 1945, and Cheryl D. Tobias, on Jan. 3, 1985; a brother, Harlan.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Daisy A. Troutman Kessler; two sons, Larry L., Valley View, and Dale M., Spring Glen; a stepdaughter, Norma Straub, Lykens, with whom he resided since Oct. 21; a stepson, Jack Kessler, Lykens; two sisters, Arlene Williard, Valley View, and Jean Herb, RR1 Hegins; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

    Mrs. Williard was born in Greenbriar, May 10, 1898, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Sarah Alice Geist Snyder. She had been employed by Carl Farms, Sacramento, until her retirement.
    She was a member of Himmels United Church of Christ Church in Rebuck.

    Services will be held Friday morning from the Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD Klingerstown, with Rev. Paul Billow, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Himmels Cemetery.

    She was a employed as a seamstress in area garment factories and had also worked for Romberger's Vineyard, Klingerstown.

    Sallie enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Knorr Sr., in 1987; four brothers, Raymond, Marlin, James and Walter Carl; and two sisters, Catherine Kessler and Helen Miller.
    She is survived by a son, Ray E. Knorr Jr. and his wife, Renae, Hegins; there daughters, Sheree-Lee Knorr, Hegins, Christine D. McCarthy and her husband, Jay, Catawissa, and Michelle I. DiFelice and her husband, Rudy, Perkasie; a grandson, Duane D. Knorr and his wife, Mary, Hegins; a granddaughter, Salaire N. DiFelice, Perkasie; two brothers, Albert Carl, Good Spring, and Wesley Carl, Hegins; four sisters, Florence Lyons, Valley View, Margaret Straub, Berrysburg, Ellen Drumheller, Hamburg, and Carolyn Schaeffer, Tremont; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman, with the Rev. Jan Mills officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery, Erdman.
