    SHAMOKIN - George E. "Shorty" Stiely Sr., 87, of Shamokin (Zerbe Township), passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at his residence.
    He was born in Rough and Ready, Nov. 27, 1934, a son of the late Harry and Evelyn (Klinger) Stiely.
    With only an eighth-grade education, he quit school to help his father on the family farm and care for his siblings. He then worked at Millersburg Shoe Factory before he started Stiely's Garage, in Dornsife, and later moved to its present location in Trevorton. Other businesses Shorty started through the years were George Stiely's Transport and Rigging, Stiely's Rivershore Campsite, Stiely's Toilet Rentals, Stiely's Mobile Home Park and Stiely's Tractors and Tractor Parts.
    He was a founder of Line Mountain 4 Wheelers and Florida Flywheel Association.
    Shorty was a member of Trevorton VFW, Eagles, of Sunbury, West Cameron Nimrods, Herndon Fire Co. and Lower Mahanoy Fire Co.
    Survivors include his children, Butch Stiely Jr. (Joan), Ginger Lahr, Sherry Stiely, Crystal Behringer (Scott), Aude Stiely Sr. (Erika) and Troy Stiely; beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Donnie Stiely, Bobby Wertz, Harry Stiely and Paul Stiely. Shorty enjoyed spending time with his best friend "Dog" and horse, Blackie.
    He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Gladys Long; 17 brothers and sisters; and the late Doris Long, mother of his children.
    STIELY - George E. "Shorty" Stiely Sr., 87, of Shamokin (Zerbe Township). A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral service at noon, with Pastor Andy York officiating. Burial will follow in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hunter Station.     She was married June 9, 1953, in Maryland to Lamar Foulds, who preceded her in death Nov. 13, 2010.
    She lived most of her life in Hunter Station and received her GED in 1982.
    She was employed at the former Riverside and Muskins Shoe Factory in Millersburg and Wilson Manufacturing in Sunbury, and later worked as an independent mail truck carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
    She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station.
    Nancy enjoyed camping, crocheting, crafts, reading and spending time with family and friends.
    Survivors include one daughter, Robyn Snyder, of Rebuck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Linda Foulds, of Herndon, and Rindy and Marla Foulds, of Dornsife; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight brothers, George Stiely Sr., of Shamokin, Harry Stiely, of Hamburg, Jesse Stiely, of Valley View, Paul Stiely, of Klingerstown, Donald Stiely, of Klingerstown, Robert Wert, of Millersburg, Ivan Wynn, of Dalmatia, and Jimmy Sheetz; three sisters, Esther Jones, of Hegins, Beverly Williard, of Gratz, and Alpha Strohecker, of Herndon; a special sister-in-law, Joanne Stiely, of Hegins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by five brothers, Perry Stiely, Guy Stiely, Glenn Stiely, Jerry Stiely and Marvin Stiely, who died in infancy; a sister, Donna Sarfine, and a son-in-law, Gregory Snyder.

    A resident of West Cameron Township for the past 10 years, she previously lived in Selinsgrove.

    In addition to her father, she is survived by three sons, Martin of Shamokin and David and Chris, both at home; three daughters, Nancy and Roxanne, both at home, and Mrs. Bonnie Cope of Bloomsburg; one granddaughter; four sisters, Mrs. Harold Jones of Hegins, Mrs. Lamar Foulds of Shamokin RD1 and Mrs. William Williard of Gratz; and nine brothers, George Stiely of Dornsife, Jessie Stiely of Spring City, Donald Stiely of Klingerstown, Harry Stiely of Hamburg, Jerry Stiely of Hegins, Paul Stiely of Herndon, James Sheetz of San Diago, Calif., Robert Wert of Mechanicsburg and Ivan Wynn of Dalmatia.
    A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bethel Union Chapel, West Cameron Township, by the Rev. Lester Kerstetter.
    The body will be cremated.

    Ivan was a graduate of Line Mountain High School.
    He was self-employed as a truck driver.
    He was a member of the Lower Mahanoy Fire Company, Dalmatia.
    Ivan enjoyed hunting and was a handyman and excelled at being a "jack of all trades. He was a very social person and had numerous friends.
    He is survived by three sons, Troy Wynn and Chad Wynn and his wife Jessica of Dalmatia, all of Dalmatia, and Eric Wynn of Colorado; one granddaughter, Mackenzie Wynn of Dalmatia; two sisters, Leona Shaffer of Elizabethville, and Carol Witmer of Dalmatia; and a large extended Stiely family.
    At Ivan's direction, there will not be a service at this time.
    The family requests as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions be made to Lower Mahanoy Fire Company, P.O. Box 72, Dalmatia, PA 17017.
    The family is being assisted by the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch Street at Maple Street, Coal Township.

    Infant Glenn Stiely, Klingerstown R. D., Dies
    Glenn Stiely, 27-months' old son of Harry Stiely and the late Evelyn Klinger Stiely, of Klingerstown RD, died at Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, Sunday at 9:45 p. m. after a week's illness. The infant took sick Christmas Day and was hospitalized last Tuesday. Cause of death was undetermined.
    He was born October 10, 1952, at Klingerstown RD. His mother preceded him in death in November, 1952.
    In addition to his father, Harry, the child is survived by the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Harold Jones, Leck Kill; George Stiely, Klingerstown R. D; Mrs. Lamar Foulds, Shamokin RD; Mrs. Donna Boyer, Rebuck; Mrs. William Williard, Gratz, and Jesse, Donald, Harry, Jr., Jerry, Alpha, James, Ernest, PauL and Ivan, all at home. Also surviving is the paternal grandfather, Perry Stiely of Klingerstown RD: the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Klinger, Klingerstown, and the maternal great-grandfather, Oscar Starr, also of Klingerstown RD.

    Jesse loved tractor-trailers, playing ball and animals, especially rabbits, which he raised.
    In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by siblings, Perry Stiely, Guy Stiely, Nancy Foulds, Donna Sarfine, Jerry Stiely, Glenn Stiely and Beverly Williard and an infant baby boy.
    He is survived by two sisters, Esther, wife of Harold Jones, Hegins, and Alpha, wife of Terry Strohecker, Herndon, RD; seven brothers, George "Shorty" Stiely, Sunbury, RD, Donald Stiely, Klingerstown, Harry, husband of Doris Stiely, Hamburg, James, husband of Doris Sheetz, California, Robert, husband of Janice Wert, Millersburg, Paul, husband of Ruth Stiely, Klingerstown, and Ivan Wynn, Dalmatia; nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Klahr officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown.

    Harry Klinger Stiely, 78, of Hamburg, passed away June 14, 2022, at Laurel Center. He was the loving husband of 57 years to Doris I. (Boyer) Stiely. Born in Rough and Ready, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Harry and Evelyn (Klinger) Stiely and foster son of the late Clair Weist and Emma Stiely Weist. He was a graduate of Fleetwood High School. Harry was employed by East Penn Manufacturing for 44 years as a construction worker. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing and loved his puzzles. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kina Boyer, Bernville and Trina Stiely, companion of Mark Burkot, New Philadelphia. Three brothers, Paul, Donald, and Robert; five grandchildren; Erik, Devin, Stefanie, Madeline, Austin and a bonus grandson, Lucas; and eight great-grandchildren also survive him. He was predeceased by five sisters and nine brothers. At Harry’s request, graveside services were private.
