    Surviving, in addition to the daughter with whom she resided, are two other daughters, Mrs. Eva Snyder, RD Elizabethville, and Mrs. Orpha White, York; two sons, Marlin E., Gratz, and Herman H. Spring Glen; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    Services were held Jan. 23 at Zion Church, Erdman. The Rev. Merlin Sjoberg officiated. Interment was in the churcii cemetery. Hoover funeral Home, Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.6

    Born at Gratz, July 6, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Alvin A. and Lillian (Troutman) Klinger.
    Mrs. Snyder was ediicated in Lykens Township schools and was a retired garment industry employee, having last been employed by Domar Manufacturing at Gratz, retiring in 1977.
    She was a member of the Zion (Klinger's) Lutheran Church at Erdman R.D. 1 and was a member of the Community Grange at Fisherville.
    She was united in marriage to Emory W. Snyder at Valley View on June 25, 1931.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons. Guy A. of R.D. 1 Elizabethville, Floyd E. of Denver, Colo., Glenn W. of Lakewood, Colo., and Derle M. of Harrisburg; two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Strohecker and Mrs. Joyce Reinfield, both of Halifax; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Scheidler of Millersburg and Mrs. Orpha White of York; one brother, Marlin E. Klinger of Gratz; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was
    preceded in death by a brother, Herman Klinger, and two sisters in infancy.
    Services were held Saturday at her church with the Rev. Walter L. Hafer, her pastor, of Klingerstown, officiating. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Erdman.
    Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association. P.O. Box 1632, 123 Forster St., Harrisburg 17105-1632.
    The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home of R.D. 1 Klingerstown had charge of funeral arrangements.5

    He was the widower of Miriam Ruth Shoop Snyder and also preceded in death by a brother Floyd.

  • He was the son of Emory Woodrow Snyder and Eva Christiana Klinger.
  • A 1976 newspaper article reported that Floyd, a member of the Wyoming Air National Guard, had taken command of the 153rd Tactical Airlift Group in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A flight instructor for United Airlines, he was the first non-full-time commander of the 153rd. Floyd attended Williamsport Technical Institute and received a B.A. degree in mineral engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado.4

    He was born Aug. 7, 1934 in Pillow, a son of the late Emory and Eva Klinger Snyder.
    He graduated from Elizabethville High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics engineering from Colorado School of Mines; an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Colorado; and a Masters of Political Science in international affairs from Auburn University, Ala. He was a graduate of the Industrial War College of the Armed Forces and the Air War College, Montgomery, Ala.
    He retired from the Wyoming Air National Guard after 32 years of military service serving as Group Commander of the 153rd Tactical Airlift Group, Cheyenne, WY and the Wyoming State Chief of Staff for the Air National Guard. He also was a line check airman and captain for United Airlines, flying the B-747 and instructing at their training center.
    He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman; and a life member of VFW?Post No. 3285 (Diamond Jubilee Memorial Post), Lykens.
    He is survived by his wife, Mari Awata Snyder; three brothers: Guy of Elizabethville, Glenn of Lakewood, Colo. and Derle of Harrisburg; two sisters: Darlene Strohecker and Joyce Reinfeld, both of Halifax; and several nieces and nephews.
    Memorial services with military honors and inurnment will be held Sunday Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman.
