    William E Klinger, age 88, of Klingerstown, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at his residence.
    He was born on Saturday, December 16, 1933, in Klingerstown, a son of the late Stanley R Klinger and the late Katie I (Ramberger) Klinger.
    He was a 1951 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
    Bill was a meat cutter for Troutman Brothers and the former Boyer's Butcher Shop both of Klingerstown, he owned and operated the Klingerstown Market, and then worked part time for the former Midway Market, Valley View, and Boyer's Market, Lykens until his retirement.
    He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown.
    He was also a former Cub Scout Master.
    Bill enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; by two sisters, Marian Schreffler and Ruthann Sims, and by five brothers, Stanley Klinger, Roy Klinger, Glenn Klinger, Dennis Klinger, and Randall Klinger.
    He is survived by his wife Norma J (Wolfe) Klinger, to whom he was married for 65 years.
    He is also survived by two sons, William E (Brenda) Klinger, II of Fogelsville, Timothy C (Brenda) Klinger of Akron, OH; four granddaughters, Emilie N (Elliot) Walters of Dickinson, TX, Kaitlin E (Kameron) Kandefer of Sarasota, FL, Tiffany J Klinger of NYC, NY, Elizabeth A Klinger of NYC, NY; a grandson, Mark W Klinger of Philadelphia; a great granddaughter, Maya I Kandefer; a great grandson, Henry E Walters and a great grandson on the way; three brothers, Dean Klinger of Maryland, Don Klinger of Klingerstown, and Ronald Klinger of Campbelltown; a sister, Carol Troutman of Klingerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Pat Wirick officiating.
    Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church.
    Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Klingerstown.

    Randall L. Klinger, 10, Klingerstown, died yesterday afternoon in Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia, of a heart condition.
    Born July 7, 1950, young Klinger was a son of Stanley and Katie (Ramberger) Klinger. Klinger was a fifth grade student in Mahantango Elementary Building of Tri-Valley Joint School. He attended St. Michael's Sunday School.
    Survivors include the parents, eight brothers, Stanley, Jr., Pillow; Roy, Mechanicsburg R. D. 4; William, Klingerstown; Dean, Lemoyne; a twin brother, Ronald, at home, and Glenn, Don and Dennis, at home. Three sisters, Mrs. Marlin Schreffler, Elizabeth-ville; Mrs. Darvin Troutman, Klingerstown, and Mrs. Mark Sims, Lykens, R. D.
    Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown R. D., and continued in St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown. The Revs. Donald Wert and J. C. Glessner, Leek Kill, will officiate. Burial will be in the prtrish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.

    Ruth Ann Sims, 81, of Lykens, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
    Ruth Ann was born in Klingerstown, on May 12, 1939, a daughter of the late Katie (Ramberger) and Stanley Klinger.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Mark R. "Sonny" Sims who passed away August 20, 2012.
    She graduated from the Tri-Valley High School in 1957 and retired from the USPS as a mail carrier.
    She was active member of St. Peters UCC, Lykens and a long time Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Farm Women Association. She will be fondly remembered as an active person spending much time with family, friends and attending multitudes of social events.
    Ruth Ann is survived by a daughter, Doreen Dockey of Harrisburg and her companion Mike Coxen; two sons Alan Sims, of Lykens; and Brian, husband of Deanna Sims, of Klingerstown; one son in law, Rodney Fenstermacher; one sister Carol Troutman, five brothers William, Dean, Don, Dennis and Ron Klinger; 6 grandchildren, Megan, Kyle, Kurt, Kevin, Tyler and Dylan; 10 great grandchildren, Aiden, Robert, Remington, Madilyn, Lainey, Owen, Ricky, Emma, Isabella, and Cole; and friend Cindy Schaffer and family.
    She was also preceded in death by a daughter Carolyn Fenstermacher, and 5 siblings, Marian, Stanley, Roy, Glenn and Randy.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 10-11 AM at St. Peter's UCC South Crossroads Road, Lykens with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Peter's UCC Cemetery, Lykens.

    Mark Richard "Sonny" Sims 78 of Lykens Township passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 unexpectedly at home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Ruth Ann (Klinger) Sims; the couple married Saturday, May 31, 1958.
    Born Tuesday, June 12, 1934 in Williamstown, PA he was a son of the late Henry and Helen (Dewalt) Sims. Sonny attended Lykens Twp. Schools and served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
    He had worked at Bixlers and retired from Ralston Purina in 1990.
    Sonny was an active and dedicated member of St. Peters United Church of Christ. He was also a Life member of the Diamond Jubilee VFW Post 2385 of Gratz.
    He enjoyed outdoor activities, and will be remembered for his love of family and friends, and his strong faith.
    Surviving are 4 Children, Alan Sims of Lykens, Brian Sims and his wife Deanna of Klingerstown, Carolyn Fenstermacher and her husband Rodney of Lykens and Doreen Dockey of Harrisburg; 6 Grandchildren Megan, Kyle, Kurt, Kevin, Tyler and Dylan; 3 Great Grandchildren, Aiden, Bobby and Remington two sisters Diana Bordner and Linda Knapp.
    He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, and 5 brothers.
    Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 9-11 AM St. Peters U.C.C Church, S. Crossroads Road, Lykens, Pa where the funeral will follow at 11 AM with Rev. Jeffrey A. Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peters U.C.C. Cemetery.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dale and Carol Klinger of Gratz and David Klinger of Lykens; three grandchildren, Chad Kissinger, Adam Klinger, and Ashlee Deibert; three great-granddaughters, Kayla Kissinger and Lindsey and Emily Deibert; three sisters, Marian Schreffler of Elizabethville, Ruth Ann Sims of Lykens, and Carol Troutman of Klingerstown; six brothers, Roy of Camp Hill, William and Don, both of Klingerstown, Dean of Marbury, Md., Dennis of Herndon, and Ronald of Palmyra; and nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall in 1961 and Glenn in 1991.
    Friends and relatives may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, followed by a memorial service at 2 with the Rev. Jan Mills officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Klingerstown.

    Faith, hope and love—it is with great sadness that we let you know that Dean E. Klinger died on March 18, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Promfret, MD. He is survived by his children, Patricia A. Klinger, Wayne D. (Marilyn) Klinger, and Cynthia K. Klinger and grandchildren, Alexandra L. Wathen (Troy Greathouse), Wayne D. Klinger, Jr., and Madison N. Klinger. His wife, Helen Lorraine Klinger of 42 years predeceased him.
    Other survivors include sister Carol (Darvin) Troutman, brothers Donald (Christie) Klinger and Ronald (Rosanne) Klinger, Norma Klinger, Rudy Klinger; lots of nieces and nephews and honorary granddaughter Leanne Lakes and great grandson Delano H. (Toyan) Muniz, Staff Sergeant, United States Air Force.
    Born in Klingerstown, PA on March 16, 1936, Dean was a son of the late Stanley R. Klinger and the late Katie I. Klinger.
    As a child, he delivered newspapers and worked at the local butcher shop. He was 1953 graduate of the former Heigns Township High School and was the first boy scout in his troop to become an Eagle Scout. Immediately after his graduation he joined the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He began his career at Harrisburg Dairies, and later became the first watercraft safety officer with the Pennsylvania State Fish Commission. He is a lifetime member and past Commander of the Harrisburg River Rescue Squad and was an accomplished diver who saved many lives.
    In 1966 he accepted a job with the U.S. Coast Guard in Washington, DC. He moved the family to Marbury, MD and was a former Cub Scout Master. He also is a lifetime member, past President and Firefighter of the Year for the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department serving since 1971.
    While working for the U.S. Coast Guard, he also held the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster and was a member of the International Photographers Association. He served as a Reserve Police Officer for the Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Department Harbor Patrol.
    In 1996 after 30 years, he retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and began his lifetime wish of travelling the world with family and friends. He travelled throughout the U.S. and was able to visit both the Artic Circle and Antarctica; travelled throughout Europe and Asia. In addition to travelling his other hobbies included: standing on a barstool while water skiing; Scuba diving; hang gliding; unicycling and driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
    He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Washington, DC, Lodge #1; the Almas Temple Shrine in Washington DC; member of the Almas Yacht Club; and member of; and the American Legion Post #82.
    In 1957 he became a member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons and was awarded the 33rd degree by the Supreme Council and Sovereign Grand Commander on October 6, 2009.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Helen Lorraine; two sisters, Marian Schreffler and Ruthann Sims, and six brothers, Randall Klinger, Stanley Klinger, Roy Klinger, Glenn Klinger, Dennis Klinger, and William Klinger.
    He was a friend to all, and the family would like to acknowledge members of the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department and its leadership for their generosity and kindness over the years to the Klinger family along with the Charles County Sheriff’s Department and the Emergency Medical Services team.
    Visitation and service will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am; immediately following the visitation a Fireman’s Service will be held at 11:00 am at the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department located at 7035 Poor House Road, Indian Head, MD. Burial will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD, followed by a reception at the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department or to Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA.6,3

    HERNDON • Dennis E. Klinger (Dewey), 74, of Herndon, Pa., passed away July 17, 2021, at UPMC West Shore Hospital. He was born March 8, 1947, in Klingerstown, Pa. He was the son of the late Stanley and Katie (Ramberger) Klinger. Dennis was a graduate of Tri-Valley High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was retired from NAVSUP in Mechanicsburg. Dennis was a member of the Diamond Jubilee Memorial VFW Post 2385, Gratz, the Klingerstown Fire Co. and St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Klingerstown. Dennis was a devoted father and grandfather, who loved spending time with family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor and was always “terrible, but thanks for asking,” one of his many ways to get a smile. Dennis is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Klinger; two grandchildren, Morgan Moore and Jason Moore; two great-granddaughters Sawyer and Hazelee Moore; one sister Carol (Darvin) Troutman; four brothers, Dean Klinger, William (Norma) Klinger, Don (Christie) Klinger and Ronald (Rosanne) Klinger; one sister-in-law, Gudrun Klinger; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by two sisters, Marion (Marlin) Schreffler and Ruth Ann (Mark) Sims; four brothers, Stanley (Viola) Klinger, Roy (Anzonetta) Klinger, Glenn Klinger and Randy Klinger; and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Klinger.     Born in RR 1, Lykens, on December 4, 1916, he was a son of the late Charles E. Rothermel and Mary (Shaffer) Rothermel Phillips.
    He was a retired farmer and employee of TRW in Harrisburg, retiring in 1982. He was educated in the Kessler's School in Erdman.
    Nevin loved his family and enjoyed hunting, camping, and playing cards. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Erdman; the Good Sam Camping Club, Line Mountain Chapter #31; the Klingerstown Fire Company; the Erdman Sportman's Association; the Big Spring Hunting Camp in Potter County; and the Council of the Manor at Susquehanna Village in Millersburg.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie L. (Scheib) Rothermel, who died August 27, 2005; a daughter, Eleanor Rothermel in 1941; and a sister, Mildred Schwalm.
    Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Sandra Rothermel of Macungie and Marlin and Joan Rothermel of RR 1, Dornsife; one daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Robert Snyder of Leck Kill; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alma Klinger of RD, Lykens; and one brother, Guy Rothermel of Winfield.
    Viewing will be from 9-11 a.m., Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Erdman, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jan Mills, Rev. Barry Ridge, and Rev. Larry Baney officiating. Burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Erdman.
