    Lewis A. Erdman, 70, of Pillow, died in Sunbury Hospital, where he had been a patient for few days. He had been ill for a year.
    Born in Klingerstown R. D. he was a son of the late Gideon and Elizabeth Williams Erdman. He was a retired blacksmith.
    Surviving besides his wife, the former Mabel Klinger, he leaves six sons and one daughter: Arthur, Berwick; Whalen, Lykens; Homer, Dornsife; Kenneth, Herndon, Lee, Pitman and Lewis Jr., Pillow; Mrs. Ray Wiest, Lykens R.D. 1; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Phares, Klingerstown and Samuel, Urban.
    Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon from the Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown. Burial in Northumberland Memorial Park.

    Dorothy F. Wiest, 82, of 257 North Center Street, Lykens, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at her home. She had been in ill health since September 4, 2006.
    Born in Klingerstown, on November 16, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Lewis A. and Mabel (Klinger) Erdman.
    She was a retired employee of the fomer Dormar Shirt Factory in Gratz, retiring in 1988. She had been a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Erdman, and also attended the Simeon Lutheran Church in Gratz.
    Dorothy was educated in the Klingerstown area schools; enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, canning, baking, cooking and loved her dogs, Keisha and Candi. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Wiest, who died October 11, 1995, also two infant sisters, and seven brothers, Ray, Whalen, Homer, Guy, Kenneth, Lee, and Junior Erdman.
    Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Terry Maurer of Hegins; four grandchildren, Todd and Troy Maurer, Tammy Snyder, and Tricia Tamburelli; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    Viewing will be held Friday, November 10, 2006 from 9-11 a.m., at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, where the funeral will follow on Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Burial in the Gratz Union Cemetery.

    Services for Ray C. Wiest, 77, of RD1 Lykens, who died Wednesday at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, where he had been a patient for a week, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown. The Rev. Barry Ridge will officiate. Interment will be in the Gratz Union Cemetery, Gratz, with military services by Gratz VFW Post 2385. He had been ill for the past number of years.
    Born in Dunkerton, Iowa, Oct. 29, 1918, he was a son of the late Samuel E. and Lottie Erdman Wiest. He was raised and educated in Hebe.
    He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater.
    He retired in 1975 from Kocher Coal Co., Valley View.
    He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman; Gratz Fire Company; and life member of Diamond Jubilee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2385, Gratz.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Guy; three sisters, Mabel Hepler, Marie Bonner and Vesta Morgan.
    Surviving are his wife the former Dorothy F. Erdman, whom he married on Dec. 12, 1941; a daughter, Bonnie Maurer, Valley : View; a brother, Leon, Valley View; two sisters, Hannah Williard, Gratz, and Emma Machamer, Williamstown; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

    LYKENS -- Ray C. Wiest, 77. of Lykens RD1, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 11, 1995, at the Polyclinic Medical . Center, Harrisburg, where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been in ill health for several years.
    He was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Dunkerton, Iowa, a son of the late Samuel E. and Lottie (Erdman) Wiest. He was married Dec. 12, 1941 in Baltimore, Md., to the former Dorothy F. Erdman.
    Mr. Wiest was raised and educated in Hebe, Herndon RDI.
    He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater.
    He had worked as a coal miner, and was last employed by the Kocher Coal Co. of Valley View, retiringin 1975.
    He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman RDI, Lykens.
    He was also a member of the Gratz Fire Company and the 1 Diamond Jubilee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2385, Gratz.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Maurer of Valley View; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Leon of Valley View; and two sisters, Hannah Williard of Gratz and Emma Machamer of Williamstown.

Burial will be in the Gratz Union Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Gratz Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2385.
