    City Alderman Collapses At Wheel, Auto Strikes Truck, Building
    Alderman William A. Hull, forty-nine, 115 W. Lemon St, died yesterday at 4:06 p.m, in Lancaster General Hospital, two hours after he suffered a stroke while at the wheel of his car.
    He was stricken while driving south on Christian Street, between Grant and King, at 2 p.m. When he slumped over the wheel, the car rolled across King Street, colliding with a tractor-trailer truck and coming to rest against the wall of a store.
    PEDESTRIANS ESCAPE
    Several pedestrians and a city policeman narrowly escaped being struck by the car.
    The truck was wedged against the corner of the Ross store, where it had become stuck in attempting to turn the corner, and a crowd of onlookers had gathered.
    Officer Donald Swope, who directing traffic, saw the Hull car approaching and jumped to safety at the last moment. Approaching the car he found the alderman unconscious and summoned the city ambulance. Officer Arthur Myers coneyed Hull to the hospital, where he was admitted.
    LEAVING POLICE COURT
    Alderman Hull had been seriously ill several months ago and was under the care of a physician. He had resumed his duties only recently and was on his way home after presiding at police court when he was stricken.
    Widely known among law enforcement officers. Alderman Hull was a brother of the late Constable Abner Astley Hull, who was shot and killed in July, 1936, while serving a warrant on a mentally deranged man at Leaman Place.
    He had served five years of a six-year term as alderman of the Ninth Ward of the city. He had previously been a committeeman of the First Precinct of the Ninth Ward and had served as a constable of the Fifth Ward for 16 years. He was also a former dealer in antiques.
    Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Lillian E. Gallagher Hull O'Connor and the late Abner A. Hull. He was a member of the First Church of God and the Golden Rule Bible Class; the Young Republicans Club; and the Pennsylvania Magistrates, Association.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Myrtle P. Klinger; a son, William A. Jr., at home; his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William A. O'Connor, Lancaster; and the following brothers and sister: Edna H., wife of W. E. Leyder, Harry E. Hull, Richard E. Hull and Robert D. Hull, all of Lancaster.

    William A. Hull Jr., 79, formerly of Lancaster, died Monday at Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City.
    Hull was a justice of the peace and district justice for Lancaster city in the First, Fifth and Ninth Wards for 32 years. He retired in 1988.
    At the time of his retirement, he was considered to be the district justice with the most consecutive number of years in office in Lancaster County. He previously served as a clerk in his fathers city alderman office. After his fathers death, Hull served as city alderman from 1956 to 1969. He also worked at the former Armstrong Cork Co.
    A U.S. Army veteran, he served with the 135th Anti-aircraft Battalion in Europe during World Warll.
    Hull was a 1943 graduate of McCaskey High School.
    He served as a Republican committeeman for the Ninth Ward in Lancaster in the early 1960s.
    Hull was a member of First Church of God, Elks Club and Artisans.
    He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bowling.
    Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William A. and Myrtle Klinger Hull.
    He was manned to the late Nancy Harnly Hull.
    Surviving are two sons, Mark J. and Timothy C., both of Lancaster; and a granddaughter.

    Born Feb. 14, 1918, in Pine Grove Ibwnship, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Dissinger. She was a member of St Peters Lutheran Church in Pine Grove and the Pine Grove Senior Citizens.

    John A. Klinger, well known South Tulpehocken St. resident passed to bis rest, Thursday, Dec. 12, 1935. follow ing an iliness of several months due to complications.
    Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Penrose Klinger. and was born at Oak Grove, near here, January 28, 1890; his age being 45 years, 10 months and 14 days.
    Surviving are his wife Esther, (nee Hughes) one son and two daughters, Forrest, at home, Pine Grove; Hazel Pottsville; Alma, wife of Page Koontz, Kannapolis, N. C. Tbe parents, three brothers, Emanuel, Robert and Roy; one grandchild, Guy John White, Jr.
    Mr. Klinger was a miner by occupation and in the employ of the P. & R. C. & I. Co., first at the Lincoln coll lery and later at Brookside.
    Mr. Klinger was identified with historic Jacob's Lutheran church, Swatara Valley, and in the family plot adjoining the cemetery the remains were laid to rest last Monday forenoon.
    Brief services were conducted at 10 o'clock at the house by his pastor, tbe Rev. Harry S. Dollman, D. D., also at the church and burial. Funeral director Henry L. Snyder had charge.
    The floral tributes were many and beautiful. The pallbearers were Elmer Schneck, Fred. Madenford, Tyrus Lengel, Emil Forth, Hezekiab Rehrer, and Edward Olt.
