    Mary F. Deppen Hess, 82, of Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, formerly of Hershey, died of natural causes Saturday, April 3, 1999, in the Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Stew Hess.
    Born April 8, 1916, in New Bloomfield, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Grant and Emma Jane Schlegel Deppen. She was a homemaker, an avid reader and an accomplished vocalist. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hershey and also attended Evangelical Free Church of Hershey. She was a member of the Palmyra Chapter 402 Order of the Eastern Star.
    Surviving are daughters Jacqueline L. Stem, Carmel, Calif., Gwendolyn F. Wright, Hershey, and Beverly N. Reighn, Palmyra; a sister, Blanche Yeich, Hershey; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1225 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey, preceded by a viewing beginning at 1.

    Charles S. 'Stew' Hess, 81, of Hummelstown RD 1 died Monday (January 01, 1990) in Hershey Medical Center. He was retired chief of the Depot Shop Division, Depot Directorate for Maintenance at New Cumberland Army Depot. He was former chief of maintenance for jet-engine repair at the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Lowe Swatara Twp., and was involved in the building of the Spirit of St. Louis airplane. He was graduated as a master mechanic from the San Diego Air Technical School and had attended Ohio State University. He attended Evangelical Free Church and Fishburn United Methodist Church, both of Hershey, and was a member of Brownstone Lodge F&AM, Hershey, where he was chairman of the Masonic Education Committee. He also was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple, Hershey and Lebanon County Shrine clubs, Quittapahilla Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest 25, York Rite Bodies, Elizabethtown High 12 Club, the Pitman (N.J.) Masonic Club, Elks Lodge 1092, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the Retired Federal Employees Breakfast Club. Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Deppen Hess; three daughters, Jacqueline L. Stern of Hummelstown, Gwen H. Wright of Hershey, and Beverly R. Reighn of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.     Mrs. Gurney Knorr, 41, a resident of Lykens for over twenty years, died in the Geisinger Hospital, Danville, Wednesday evening at 6:15, death having been caused by a six months' illness of dropsy and a heart condition.
    Mrs. Knorr was born in Tower City and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kolva. Twenty-one years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Gurney Knorr who with three sons, James Raymond and Walter at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Irene Alvord of New Jersey; Dolly Mae and Ina Lou at home. Two brothers, Dory, of Vineland, N. J., and Russel, address unknown, also survive. She attended and was a member of Christ Reformed Church, North Second street, Lykens.
    Funeral services will be held from her late home 558 North street, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev. Paul C. Schreier, pastor of Christ Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Wiconisco cemetery.2

    Funeral services for Forrest Keiser age 31 years of Lykens, who died in the Harrisburg Hospital, Friday, after an attack of pneumonia, were held from the home of his parents on Tuesday afernoon. Rev. Mr. Sandt, former pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church officiated and interment was made in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery. Members of the Lykens Lodge of that order had charge of the services at the grave.
    Beside his parents, he is survived by his wife, four small children; two brothers and five sisters.

    He was a retired employee of the Cleveland Bros. Equipment Company of Frackville. Moose Club of Mount Carmel and the Christmas Tree Growers Association of Pennsylvania.
