    She was born on April 10, 1928 in Millersburg, PA the daughter of the late Harry Wade and Katherin (Meehan) Wade.
    Alice was married to the late Kenneth Straub for 74 years.
    She retired as an floral assistant.
    She was a member of Peace UCC in Berrysburg.
    Alice and Ken enjoyed golf and square dancing.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Straub and a daughter Linda Harris.
    Surviving are her son Edward Straub and his wife Nizza.

    HALIFAX - Linda S. Harris, 68, of Highland Lane in Halifax passed away Monday, January 23rd.
    She was born on Nov. 16, 1948 in Harrisburg the daughter of Ken and Alice Straub of Millersburg.
    She graduated from Upper Dauphin H.S. in 1966. She retired from Commonwealth of PA where she worked as a computer programmer. She was the lead singer with BD & the MGs. The first 6 years of marriage they traveled the US extensively including Alaska, Hawaii, and all National Parks. She volunteered for Open Air Ministries for underprivileged children. She also volunteered with ACT at Clarks Valley Zion EC Church, where she did set designs, and floral arrangements for home bound members of the church.
    In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband Neil Harris, a brother Edward Straub and his wife Nizza, aunts and uncles Bernice and Jim Witmer, Charlotte and David Bingaman, Barbara and Dale Strausser, Naomi Straub, and Grace Straub, and many nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 am Saturday, January 28th at Clarks Valley Zion E.C. Church, Dauphin. Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 am at the church.
    In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Open Air Ministries, 438 Folcroft Ave, Folcroft, PA 19032.

    Daniel A Deppen of Willingboro, NJ., peacefully departed this life on Friday Dec.06, 2013. He was 72.
    Dan was born in Ashland, PA on June 7, 1941 son of Elmer and Elsie Deppen. He graduated from High School in New York and worked as a draftsman for General Electric, until joining the Army in 1963, serving overseas in Germany.
    Dan, an entrepreneur, was the owner of De-Max Inc. and then for the last 20 years, DeppenWoodProducts. He took pride in his businesses and relished the friends he made along the way. He had a passion for animals, especially his dogs, and enjoyed woodworking, fast cars, fishing and cooking.
    Dan is survived by his wife Margit (Richter), and his three sons and their spouses; Daniel (Gina), John (Calista) and David (Sue); his five Grandchildren, Cally, Daniel, Sylvia, Payton and Cody; his two sisters, Joan Stauffenberg and Anne Negrin; and his many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
    A memorial service celebrating Dan's life will be held on Saturday, Dec.14, at Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, NJ. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Graveside interment will follow in Monument Cemetery in Beverly, NJ.3

    SHAMOKIN -- Charles E. Leisenring Sr., 85, of 402 Airport Road, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
    He was born June 29, 1923, in Sunbury, a son of the late Charles C. and Katherine (Brosius) Leisenring. On May 4, 1946, in Selinsgrove, he married the former Miriam L. Richie, who preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 1993.
    He attended Ralpho Township schools and served in the Army during World War II.
    Charles was a farmer in Overlook for many years.
    He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, the Elysburg Gun Club and the Grange and was a former judge of elections.
    He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles E. Jr. and Eleanor Leisenring and Dean Leisenring, both of RR Shamokin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Kenneth of RR Shamokin, Kathy and Stephen Hebrock of Northampton and Beth and Henry Motyka of Shamokin; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Leisenring of York.
    There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Overlook, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Tom Morris officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Peter's Blue Church Cemetery.
    Farrow Funeral Directors, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, is in charge of the arrangements.
