    Paul Deeter, 85, of 62 Hill Road, Hegins, passed away Sunday at Geising-er Medical Center, Danville. Born March 19, 1929, in Hegins Township, he was a son of the late Percy and Margaret I. Geist Deeter.
    Paul served in the Army during the Korean War.
    He was a coal miner for several area coal mines prior to his retirement.
    He was of the Protestant faith.
    Paul was a member of American Legion Post 575, Valley View.
    He enjoyed building things, gardening and was a true jack-of-all-trades.
    Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were four brothers, Junior, Donald, Elwood and Glen Deeter; and two sisters, Leoma Carl and Blanche Kimmel.
    He is survived by two daughters, Barbara J. Miller and her husband, Dan, Sacramento, and Brenda K. Deeter and her companion, Todd, Middletown, a son, Ricky Deeter, Hegins; two granddaughters, Ricki K. Deeter and Kayla D. Masser; a grandson, Josh D. Miller; six sisters, Ruth Carl, Hegins, Marlene Lucas, Lavelle, Margaret Reichenbach, Trevorton, Dorothy Conniff, Lavelle, Larae Lucas, Hegins, and June Sweinhart, Hegins; brother, Richard Deeter, Hegins; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. John Wallace officiating. A viewing will be held from to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held in Salem Cemetery Weishample.
