  Dean M. Schreck, 76, of Klingerstown, PA and formerly of Sunbury passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
  Dean was born in Lewisburg, PA on May 1, 1942, a son of the late Anna (Reamer) and James Schreck.
  He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sandra (Erdman) Schreck; they were married July 31, 1965.
  He was employed as an auto mechanic at Campbell Chevrolet and Leitzels Ford and also operated and was in charge of upkeep of heavy equipment at Henry Martz Construction. He also worked in security for Middleswarth Chips.
  Dean was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready and served as a Deacon on the Consistory. He was also a member of the Moose, VFW and American Legion all of Sunbury.
  He was a lifelong volunteer fireman belonging to numerous fire companies and was proud to have served with the Sunbury Fire Police for 31 years. Dean loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and vacationing with family especially in the Poconos.
  Dean is also survived by a son, Kevin, husband of Barbara Schreck, of Northumberland; a daughter, Wanda, wife of Robert Cook, of New Castle, DE; five siblings Janette Diehl, of Lewisburg, Carl Schreck, of Mifflinburg, Paul Schreck, of Lewisburg, Debra Sauers, of Mifflinburg and Steven Schreck, of FL; and 5 grandchildren, Shayna, Kevin Joseph, Ashley, Rachel and Lillian.
  He was preceded in death by one brother Gerald Schreck.
  Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9-11 AM at the Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 11 Church Road, Klingerstown, PA with the funeral service following at 11 AM with Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to a meal to celebrate the life of Dean following the interment at Salem Church.

• He was the son of Samuel Klinger and Magdalena Klinger.
• Elias Klinger married Flora Metz.³
• At the time of the 1880 Census, Elias (29) and his wife Flora (20) were living in Shamokin, Northumberland County, where Elias was a coal miner. Their household included 4 children: Kate (4); Howard (3); Annie E. (2); and Emma M. (1 month).⁴
• By 1910, Elias (60) was a widower living in Coal Township, Northumberland County, where he was working as a butcher in a packing house. His household included 3 sons -- Raymond E. (20) and Harrold J. (16), both laborers in coal mines, Ellwood E. (13) -- his daughter Maud E. Dunmore (29) and son-in-law William L. Dunmore (30).⁵
• In 1920, Elias and his son Elwood were living in Coal Township, Northumberland County in a household headed by William L. Dunmore and his wife, Elias's daughter Maud. Elias was working as a butcher in a meat packing company.⁶

• Alvaretta Klinger married Harry E. Mutchler circa 1899.¹
• In 1910, Alva and her husband Harry were living in Coal Township, Northumberland County. They had been married 10 years and had 5 children, all of whom were then living. Harry worked as a laborer in a coal mine, while Alva was a "saleslady" in a notions store. The Census listed their 5 children as: Beatrice (10); Howard (9); Roland (7); Helen (4); and Eilene (2).¹
• By 1920, Alva and her husband Harry, a motorman in a coal mine, were living on Second Street in Shamokin, Northumberland County, with 6 children: Beatrice E. (20), knitter in a hosiery mill; Howard J. (18), machinist on hosiery mill; Roland E. (16), laborer in coal mine; Helen C. (13); Eilene A. (11); and Harry E. (6).²
• The 1930 Census for Shamokin lists Alva and Harry, a pumpman in a mine, in the following household: Louis Nuss, son-in-law, 24, barber; Irene [sic] Nuss, daughter, 22, weaver in silk mill; and Harry Mutchler, son, 16, helper in silk mill.⁶
• Alvaretta Klinger died on 29 November 1963, at age 81.⁵
