    LYKENS -- Ray A. Kissinger Sr., 76, of Lykens RD1 died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 1992, at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
    Born March 8, 1916, in Gratz, he was a son of the late John and Esther Phillips Kissinger. He was married to the former Alberta Shroyer.
    Mr. Kissinger was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Lykens RD1.
    He was an Army veteran of World War II.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Melvin of Lower Paxton Township and Ray Jr. of Gratz; two daughters, Frances Moyer of Gratz and Karen Wiest of Elizabethville; three brothers, Roy of Paxton, John of Lykens RD and Robert of Gratz; one sister, Mae Starr of Gratz; and seven grandchildren.
    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, by the Rev. Barry Ridge. Burial will be in Gratz Union Cemetery.
    There will be no viewing.

    SAMUEL SHADE
    Samuel Shade, age 85 years, 5 months and 13 days, died at his home west of Gratz last Thursday after a short illness, due to a heart affection.
    He was a son of the late Jacob and Catherine Schmeltz Shade born in Lykens Township, February 12, 1850, where he resided the greater part of his life. He was married March 5, 1870 to Elizabeth Haag who preceded him in death. Deceased was a member of Simeon's Lutheran Church of Gratz.
    Survivors are a son, Elias Shade, Millersburg; three daughters, Susie Shade, Penbrook; Mrs. John Matter, Harrisburg and Mrs. William Straub, Millersburg. Other survivors are a brother, Daniel Shade, Lykens Twp., two sisters, Mrs. Frank Willier of Philadelphia and Mrs. Lizzie Fisher of Loyalton ; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held from the residence at two o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. W. Z. Artz, pastor of the Lykens Valley Lutheran Parish officiated and interment was made in the Gratz cemetery.
