    Claude S. Klinger
    The Lebanon Daily News has learned of the death of Claude S. Klinger, 73, of South Lebanon Township. Klinger died at home on Thursday, July 12, 2001, after a brief illness, He was the husband of Phyllis Scheib Klinger for 55 years.
    Born in Hegins, he was a son of the late Claude A and Sadie M. Dunkelberger Klinger. A Navy veteran, he was retired from Herbert R. Imbt Inc., a paving contractor in State College, where he had worked for 36 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Stroudsburg.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Dennis Klinger of Cornwall, David Klinger of Hillsboro, Ore., Brenda Klinger of Harrisburg and Rebecca, wife of Loren Snyder, of Wind Gap; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; sister Dolores Klinger of Newfoundland, Pa., and brother Robert Klinger of Rawleigh, N.C.
    Sister Bette Wolfgang succeeded him in death in September.
    The Rev. George Mackey, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lebanon, presided at a memorial service at the church following his death.
    Arrangements were made by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania. A military memorial will be held later at the convenience of the family, with interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemeteiy.

    Born in Higgins Twp., Schuylkill County on July 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Claude and Sadie Dunkelberger Klinger.
    He was a Truck Salesman for Mack Trucks, Inc. Harrisburg. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea and a former member of Chapel Hill United Church of Christ, Camp Hill.
    Surviving are two daughters, Audrey M., wife of Robert Shenk of Annville and Bridget C., wife of Shawn Wheeler of York Haven; a sister, Dolores Klinger of the Poconos; three grandchildren, Rose Shenk, Shelby Wheeler and Taylor Wheeler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Klinger, Jr., and a sister, Betty Wolfgang.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m., from the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.

    Melvin W. Klinger, 78, of Dalmatia, passed away on December 22, 2020, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Jordan Twp on April 24, 1942, a son of the late Sadie and Daniel C. Klinger. Melvin was employed at Muskin Shoe and later at Brubaker Tool in Millersburg. He enjoyed tractor pulling, hunting and motorcycle riding.
    Melvin is survived by his wife Jacqueline Klinger; son, Melvin Klinger, Jr; sister, Arlene Wilbert; nieces and nephews, James Wilbert, Jr., Rod Wilbert, Hayden Conrad, Jeffrey Bingaman, Monica Paul, Karen Hoy, Shae Conrad, Janelle Hooper; brother-in-law, George Conrad; sister-in-law, Laurie Bingaman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Klinger and a sister, Romaine Peifer.
    A viewing will be held on December 29, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. Private family services will follow. Interment will take place in the Riverview Memorial Park, Halifax.2

    Born on June 4, 1935, in Jordon Township, Northumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Sadie Snyder Klinger.
    Romaine was a member of Salem Hetzel's United Church of Christ, Pine Grove.
    Romaine retired as a seamstress from Haven Line Industries, Schuylkill Haven, in 2001. Previously, she had been employed at the former Summit Station Manufacturing Co., Pine Grove. She had been a member of ULGWA.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William H. "Chicken" Peiffer, on Dec. 13, 2000; and a brother, Raymond Klinger.
    Surviving are her daughter, Karen Hoy, Pine Grove; son, Leonard Peiffer, Schuylkill County; granddaughter, Jadzia Hoy; sister, Arlene Wilbert, Elizabethville; and brother, Melvin Klinger, Dalmatia.
    Services was held at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Mary Lou Eckels officiating. Interment will follow in Hetzel's Church Cemetery, Pine Grove.
