    Mr. Deiter died early Monday morning in Pottsville Hospital where he was a patient since July 10.

    Anna G. Dunkle, 76, of Hegins, died Tuesday at home.
    She was born in Hegins Township, Jan. 1, 1914, a daughter of the late John and Joanne Seeg Deiter.
    She was a 1931 graduate of Hegins Township High School.
    Mrs. Dunkle was a retired employee of Hegins Manufacturing Co.
    She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, and Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.
    Surviving are her husband, Earl; a son, Warren, Hegins; a brother, Earl Deiter, Hegins; three grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Jack Murphy will officiate. There will no viewing Thursday, but there will be viewing prior to services. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

    Warren Earl “Nick” Dunkle, age 75, of Cullman AL, formerly of Hegins, passed away Sunday at his residence.
    He was born on April 1, 1942 in Hegins, a son of the late Earl Wayne Dunkle and the late Anna Gertrude Deiter Dunkle.
    Nick was a 1960 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, and served in the US Army from 1963 to 1966; and retired as a correctional officer at the Camp Hill State Prison in 2008. Following his retirement he moved to Cullman AL.
    He is survived by his beloved wife Lois K. Houser Dunkle; five children; eight grandchildren.
    Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View, at 10am on Saturday, February 24, 2018, with Rev. Brian Beisel officiating.
    Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    Earl E. Deiter, 91, of The Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, formerly of Hegins, passed away Friday at the nursing home.
    Born in Hegins, Jan. 29, 1920, he was a son of the late John E. and Anna F. Seig Deiter.
    He was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
    He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre.
    He was a coal miner for Five Par Coal Mining and retired from Skamper, Hegins.
    He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, and a former member of Hegins Area Rotary
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Mae Deiter, in 2005, and a sister, Anna G. Dunkle.
    He is survived by a nephew, Warren E. Dunkle, Cullman, Ala., and a brother-in-law, Albert W Bloch, Hegins.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Warren Egebo officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, P.O.
