    Allan D. Oestreich
MILFORD - Allan Oestreich went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, from the Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. Mr. Oestreich was born on Dec 4th, 1930, in Ashland, Pa., son of the late Harry and Lottie Oestreich. Mr. Oestreich served his country proudly starting in the US Navy and then with the US Air Force. He worked as a jet engine mechanic, and was enlisted for over 20 years. After the military, he worked for over 15 years for the postal service until he took early retirement to spend time on what he enjoyed, gardening, fishing, and wood working. He was quite skilled at wood carving, and even entered his carved ducks into local competitions. Another favorite activity was listening to blue grass gospel music. He even enjoyed strumming along on his banjo. Having a relationship with his Lord was a priority in his life, and he enjoyed attending the Milford Church of the Nazarene, and later the Manship Chapel. Mr. Oestreich is best described as salt of the Earth. He devoted his life to his family and was always involved with family activities. He was always humble, frugal, and a man of integrity. He was always ultra responsible and honest. Although he was a quiet man, he had a funny sense of humor which no one expected.
