    Harvey C "Buster" Deitrich, age 58, of Hegins, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
    He was born on Wednesday, September 10, 1958, in Pottsville, a son of the late John H Deitrich and the late Alverta B Yoder Deitrich.
    He was employed at Supreme Corporation, Jonestown, until becoming ill.
    He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.
    He was also a member of the Joliett Fire Company, Little Run Sportsman's Club, Tremont, and the Valley View Gun Club.
    Buster enjoyed shooting pool and darts. He enjoyed working on cars and had a love for Mopar vehicles. Buster was a very generous person; he would do anything for anyone.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; by two sisters Sharon L Deitrich and Rose M Deitrich; and a nephew, Aaron C Deitrich.
    He is survived by a brother, John R Deitrich and his wife Sheila of Hegins; two sisters, Carol A Kukuk and her husband Jack of Muir and Patricia L Deitrich of Pottsville; two nieces, Tammy Kukuk of Muir and Crystal Owens of Mechanicsburg; and a nephew, Lamar Kukuk of Palmyra.
    Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating.
    Visitation was held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
    Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

    Born in Hegins, August 8, 1943, a son of the late William and Iva Neumister Kukuk.
    Jack was a retired coal miner.
    He was of the Lutheran faith.
    Jack had a great passion for classic cars and spent countless hours restoring them. He took great pride in his Model A car. Jack also was a Civil War enthusiast who enjoyed taking trips to his favorite place, Gettysburg. He also was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and James Kukuk, and two sisters, Betty Adley and Rose Lubold.
    Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Carol A. Kukuk; a son, Lamar Kukuk, Palmyra; a daughter, Tammy Kukuk, Muir; a sister, Melody Smith and her husband Scott, Lavelle; several nieces and nephews.

    Marlin F. Heim, 47, Pitman, died this morning at 6:00 in Ashland Hospital after being in failing health for 18 months. He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday.
    Mr. Heim, a widely known farmer, was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman, and a member of Woodmen of the World, Camp No. 443, Pitman.
    Born in Pitman February 6, 1912, Mr. Heim was a son of the late Francis and Amelia (Kerstetter) Heim.
    Surviving are the widow, the former Norma Deitrick; three children, Mrs. Daniel Reiner, Pitman; Mrs. Gene Hedding, Lykens, R.     Gene B Headdings, age 90, of Gratz, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at his residence.
    He was born on Friday, August 25, 1933, in Greenbrier, a son of the late George Headdings and the late Millie (Kline) Headdings.
    Gene served in the US Army.
    He retired from Interstate Tile Mantle Company, Harrisburg.
    He was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready.
    He was also a member of the Gratz Fire Company, Klingerstown Fire Company, and American Legion Post 504 Mandata.
    Gene enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard, trips to the beach, and spending time with his family. He was an avid all around sports fan. He also enjoyed attending Phillies and Penn State games.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; by five brothers, Marvin Headdings, Charles Headdings, Paul Headdings, Clarence Headdings, and Mark Headdings, and three sisters, Eleanor Paul, Norma Wenrich, and Gladys Cooper.
    He is survived by his wife Marilyn J (Heim) Headdings, to whom he was married for 65 years.
    He is also survived by a daughter, Wendy D (Eugene) Houck; son, Scott K (Lori) Headdings; grandson, Kyle (Hannah) Headdings; two step grandsons, Michael (Tish) Houck and Christopher (Erica Spann) Houck; two step granddaughters, Kristin (John) Ronan and Emily (Mark) Paulson; six step great grandchildren, Theo, Edward, Josie, and Nicholas Houck and Sammy and Charlie Ronan; two brothers, Woodrow Headdings and Dallas Headdings; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 10:00 am, with Rev. Mark E Mantz officiating.
    A viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday at the church.
    Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
    Memorial contributions can be made to Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 11 Church Road, Klingerstown PA 17941 or to the Gratz Fire Company, PO Box 8, Gratz PA 17030.
