    MILLERSBURG — Mildred C. Moon, 99, of Millers- burg, formerly of Herndon, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 ,at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
    She was born Jan. 29, 1911, in Big Run, Dauphin County, a daughter of the late James E. and Beulah I. (Wert) Batdorf. She was married on Oct. 1, 1929, in Maryland to Dr. T. Randall Moon, who preceded her in death in 1960. He had a dental practice in Herndon.
    Mildred lived most of her life in Herndon. She attended Washington Township schools in Dauphin County.
    Mildred operated a convenience store in Dalmatia for many years and also was a homemaker.
    She was a member of Zion Church, Herndon; the Lower Northumberland County Senior Action Center; Lykens Eastern Star; and White Shrine, Sunbury.
    She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Jamie Moon, of Elizabethville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Doris Metcalf, of Madison, Wis., Diana and Theodore Sawruk, of Bethlehem, and Sandra and Lyle Schwalm, of Langhorne; three foster children, Sarah Buck, of Shamokin Dam, Gloria Gaffney, of Harrisburg, and Edward Schultz, of Millersburg; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Sheri Moon, of Waterville, Ohio.
    She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas L. Moon; two grandchildren; one great- grandchild; two brothers; four sisters; and one foster child, Janet Hurley.
    A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Church, Route 147, Herndon, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Michael Ware officiating.
    Burial will be in Herndon Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mildred’s memory may be made to Zion Church, P.O. Box 384, Route 147, Herndon, PA 17830. Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.

    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at A.R. Buffington Fuineral HOme, Valley View, for Mrs. Marjorie rene Mae Hepler, nee Reed, wife of Russel Hepler, Valley View.     Mrs. Hepler. 33, died in Pottsville Hospital Saturday morning. She was in ill health for a long time and gave birth to a baby daughter last Thhursday.
    She was born in Lykens Twp., June 29, 1919, a daughter of Mrs. Irene Reed, nee Troxell and the late William R. Reed. Her father died March 11 of this year. She was a member of Coleman's Reformed Church. Church Chior and Friendship Circle.
    Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Donna Rae and the infant daughter Marjorie Patricia; her mother who lives in Spring Glen and these brothers and sister, Ethan, Sacramento; William Jr., Robert and Barbara, all of Spring Glen; and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Trovell, Gratz.

    Thomas J. Deitrich, 38, died Sunday at 2 a. m. at his home in Pitman. Death was caused by miner's asthma, with which he had been afflicted for some time. Prior to his last illness he had been employed at a region colliery.
    He was born in Hegins August 13, 1907, the son of John and Mary Shucker Dietrich. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Wetzel Dietrich; four children, Robert, LaMar, Marlin and Dolores, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Oestrichs, Ashland; Mrs. Marlin Heim, Pitman; Mrs. Guy Kimmel, Hegins, and Mrs. Theodore Fenstermacher, Schuylkill Haven; four brothers, Daniel, Charles, Cletus, and John all of Hegins.

    Blanche I. Deitrich, 78, of RD1 Pitman, died Monday morning at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, where she had been a patient since Friday. She had been in ill health the pastyear.
    Born in RD1 Pitman, June 6, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Knorr Wetzel.
    She retired in 1985 as a cook employed by the Mahantongo Elementary School, RD1 Klingerstown.
    Mrs. Deitrich was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, RD1 Pitman, and Mahantongo Valley Senior Citizens.
    Her husband, Thomas J., died March 10, 1946; and a son, Thomas J. Jr., also preceded her in death.
    Surviving are three sons, Robert F., Aurora, Colo , Lamar E., Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center, and Marvin L., RD1 Klingerstown; a daughter, Delores Godlewski, Etters; two brothers, Ira and Mark Wetzel, both of RD1 Pitman; a stepsister, Mary Wagner, Valley View; seven grandchildren; four great-granddaughters.
    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Paul's ECC with the Rev. Lance Mills officiating. There will be no , calling hours Wednesday, but there will be a viewing Thursday.     PITMAN -- Lamar E. Deitrich, 55, of Pitman RD1 died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1993, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lebanon, where he had been a patient since September 1976.
    Born May 6, 1937, in Pitman, he was a son of the late Thomas and Blanche Wetzel Deitrich. In 1960, he married the former Marjorie C . Gahres.
    He was an aircraft mechanic before his illness.
    He was a member of St James" Lutheran Church, Pitman.
    Mr. Deitrich was a 1954 graduate of Hegins Township High School.
    He served in the Air Force from 1955-59.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Christal Hinkel of Ashland RD1; two sons, Thomas L. and Jonathan I., both of Franklin, Wis; two brothers, Robert of Denver, Colo., and Marvin of Klingerstown RD1; a sister, Delores Godlewski of Etters; and several nieces and nephews.
    A private funeral will be conducted at the convenience of the family by the Rev. Paul Fisher. Burial will be in St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Cemetery, Pitman RD1.
    Contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Kirby Health Center Annex, 63 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre 18701.
