    Betty retired as a librarian from the Schuylkill Haven Library. She had also taught piano for many years. Betty was formerly an organist for many years at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont.
    She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont; a member of Christian Broadcasting Network and In Touch Ministries.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Klinger; twin sons, Keith, 2013, and Karl, 2014; a brother, Warren Stiely.
    Surviving are her son, Roger Klinger, Williamstown; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 29 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City. Viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont, or St. Andrew's Methodist Church, Valley View, or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

    Hilda Margaret Harner, 96, of Bethany Village, died peacefully Thursday.
    She was born in Rough and Ready, she was a daughter of the late Lottie and Charles Henry.
    She was a graduate of Hegins Township High School and Harrisburg School of Cosmetology. Hilda was a loving mother, a patient and faithful wife and an adoring grandma and great-grandma who took life as it came with a unique mix of humor and humility. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, Order of the Eastern Star and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
    Hilda was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leslie E. Harner, in 2000; and a son-in-law, George Wolfe, in 2006.
    Surviving are two daughters, Janice Wolfe, Wyomissing, and Jane M., wife of Ronald Barnes, New Cumberland; grandchildren, Michael Wolfe and his wife, Judy, Portland, Maine, Alison Izzo, Hummelstown, Jeff Barnes and his wife, Ann, Santa Maria, Calif., Eric Barnes and his wife, Maria, Pottstown; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces.
    A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 11 a.m., at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1382 W. Main Street, Valley View, PA. The Rev. James B. Browning will officiate. Internment will be in St. Andrew's United Methodist Cemetery following the service.
    The family would prefer that memorial contributions in her name be made to Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055 or Hospice of Central PA, 98 S. Enola Drive, Enola, PA 17025.

    Her husband George W. Wolfe, Jr., died Nov. 22, 2006.
    Janice was born in Valley View, PA, on Feb. 26, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Ellsworth Harner and Hilda (Henry) Harner.
    She was a graduate of the Tremont High School class of 1951. Janice graduated from Lankanau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia in 1954. She worked in the operating room at Reading Hospital from 1954-1958.
    Janice was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.
    She belonged to the Junior League of Reading, The Women's Exchange, Historic Preservation Trust, Pewter Collector's Club, Breast Cancer Support Group and volunteered at the Reading Hospital.
    Janice enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch and knitting, cruises, watching the Phillies and family vacations in Stone Harbor, N.J.
    Janice is survived by a son, Michael D., husband of Judy (Hanscom) Wolfe of Portland, Maine; a daughter, Alison (Wolfe) Izzo of Hummelstown, PA; and three grandchildren: Jordan M. Izzo, Jessica E. Wolfe and Grace E. Wolfe. Other survivors include her loving companion, Jack A. Beard; a sister, Jane Mary (Harner), wife of Ronald Barnes of New Cumberland; two brothers-in-law, Peter H., husband of Elizabeth (Corbit) Wolfe of Wyomissing and Philip D., husband of Joanne (Leyda) Wolfe also of Wyomissing; and several nieces and nephews.
    Janice is lovingly remembered as an attentive wife, compassionate mother and a thoughtful grandmother. There are no words for how much she will be missed.
    Services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.     Dr. Paul F. Schach, 82, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Reading, a former professor of German at Albright College, Reading, died Tuesday night at home.
    Born in Tremont, he was a son of the late Howard G. and Katie E. Schwalm Schach. He was a 1934 graduate of Reading High School and a 1938 graduate of Albright College.
    During World War II, he translated captured German technical documents in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
    He was emeritus professor of Germanic languages at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, from 1951 until retiring. He taught courses on Old Norse, middle high German and medieval German literature.
    His honors include the Order de Tristan (Liege, Belgium, 1966) for his research of the Tristan Legend in Scandinavia; an award for outstanding research and creative activity from the University of Nebraska in 1979; and a National Council citation from Albright College in 1989.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ruth M. Yohh. Surviving are three daughters, Joan Schach, Lincoln, Paula Meyer, Van Meter, Iowa and Katherine Cook, Wyoming, R.I; a brother, John H., Bernville.

    He was the husband of Adelaide Katherine (Levan) Schach, whom he married 65 years ago, on June 9, 1943.
    Born in Tremont, Schuylkill County on January 8, 1922, he was a son of the late Howard Gottlieb Schach and Katie Ella Nora (Schwalm) Schach.
    He was a 1940 graduate of Reading High School.
    John was an Army Air Corp. Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam, serving almost 40 years before retiring as a Lt. Col.
    He was the President and owner of John H. Schach's Rugs and Carpets, West Reading for 28 years, retiring in 1986.
    John was a past president of the Sales Marketing Executives, Reading; past president of the Board of Trustees of the Lehigh Presbytery; a member of the Berkshire Investors, Reading and a member of the Masonic Lodge #62 where he served on the consistory of the Rajah Shrine.
    He was also a charter member of the Keystone Flyers Club, Reading; past member of the Reading Aero Club, Bern Township and a life member of the Hump Pilots Association.
    John is also survived by a son; John H. Jr., husband of Jessica R. Schach of Exeter Township.
    Other survivors include two grandchildren: Nicole M., wife of Paul W. Bleiler of Spring Township and Jonathan A., husband of Sally (Clement) Schach of Harrisburg and two great grandchildren: Caitlyn N. Bleiler and Madisyn J. Bleiler.
    He was expecting the birth of his third great grandchild this year.
    John was lovingly cared for by his caregiver of two years, Patricia L. Weaver.
    John was predeceased by five siblings: Mary Posey; Paul Schach; Verna Seitz; Martha Weik and Naomi Schach.
    Services will be held Friday at 11:00 am in West Lawn United Methodist Church, Penn and Woodside Avenues, West Lawn. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
