    He was born Jan. 14. 184, a son of the late Henry and Catherine Schwalm; was a member of the United Brethren Church, Spring Glen, and of the Sunday School of which he was secretary for 25 years. He was a charter member of Menton Tribe, 511, Order of Redmen, Spring Glen, and served as secretary at the time of its organization in 1908 until 1944 when ill health caused him to resign. During these years, he missed only two meetings.
    Surviving are his wife, Sally; the following children. Homer, Spring Glen: Mrs. Chas. Keiffer, Hegins; Mrs. Lest Guttshall, Harrisburg; Edna, at home. There are two grandchildren; one brother, Mason Schwalm, Fearnot; and three sisters Mrs. Wm. Klinger, and Mrs. Clinton Koppenhaver, Spring Glen; Mrs. Wm. Mausser, Fearnot.
    His funeral will take place Sunday afternoon from his home with further services in the U. B. Church and interment in Sacramento cemetery. Rev. H. M. Mentzer and Rev. H. J. Naftzinger will officiate. H. E. Miller. Valley View, is in charge.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie E. Schwalm, 84, Spring Glen, who died at 3:45 Friday morning, at Pottisville Hospital, will be held Tuesday morning in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento. The Rev. George Henry, her pastor, assisted by the Rev. Howard Wertz, will officiate. Burial will be in Sacramento Union Cemetery.
    Mrs. Schwalm was born June 17, 1888, in Spring Glen, daughter of the late Daniel and Catharine Maurer Dietrich. She was a member of St. Paul's UCC Church.
    Surviving are four children, Homer R. Schwalm, Spring Glen; Mrs. Charles Kieffer, Hegins; Mrs. Lester Gutshall, Harrisburg; Mrs. William Schrawder, Spring Glen; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Reed, Elizabethville.
