    ELYSBURG - Ruth Naomi Cook, 92, of Elysburg, passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at her residence.
    She was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Millersburg, a daughter of the late Harvey J. and Ronie D. (Klinger) Matter.
    She graduated from Millersburg High School Class of 1943.
    Ruth worked at Nedrich Manufacturing Co., Elizabethville, where she met her husband, Charles "Boom" Cook. They then moved to Elysburg where she worked at Knoebels Amusement Resort for more than 40 years, primarily as the manager of the funnel cake stand.
    She was known for her cooking. Ruth enjoyed traveling, camping and watching sports. She spent many winters in Florida with her husband. She was a member of Lykens Chapter of Eastern Star and the Elysburg Presbyterian Church.
    Ruth is survived by a sister, Winifred Gould and her husband, James, of Hershey; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Mark, Marlin, and Leroy Matter; and a sister, Mary Blasser.

    COOK - Ruth Naomi Cook, 92, of Elysburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Elysburg Presbyterian Church, 320 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg with her pastor, the Rev. Matthew Young officiating. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, and 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church.
