    James Morris Ditzler, 48, of the Stoystown area of southwestern Pennsylvania, was stricken ill and died in Maryland on Sunday.
    Mr. Ditzler was owner of a car dealership.
    He was born in Suedberg, Feb. 7, 1933, a son of Mrs. Minerva Swalm Ditzler, Pine Grove, and the late Charle A. Ditzler.
    He was a member of .Fraternal Order of Eagles, Cumberland, Md., Masonic Lodge 358, Somerset, held the 32nd degree in Williamsport Consistory of the Masons and was a member of Iram Temple.
    Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Joyce Boyer; four daughters, Caroline, wife of Jerry Lengel, Pine Grove, Jayne, wife of Camille D'Attilio, Tremont, Judi Achenbach, Harrisburg, and Michele, at home; eighth sons, James M. Jr., Carlisle, Richard, at home, John, Somerset, Michael, Williamsport, Robert, Keith, Jaime and Jeffrey, all at home; seven grandchildren.
    Services will be held Friday morning at H. L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. The Rev. Gerald Marzolf will officiate. Interment will be in Suedberg Church of God Cemetery.

    Born Feb. 7, 1933, in Suedberg, Pa., son of Minerva (Swalm) Ditzler of Pine Grove and the late Charles Ditzler. Preceded in death by his first wife, the former Jean (Curnow). Survived by widow, the former Joyce Boyer; and these children: Mrs. Jerry (Carol) Lengel of Pine Grove; James Jr. of Carlise; Mrs. Camillo (Jane Marie) D'Attilio of Treemount; John, Stoystown RD 1; Judi Achenbach, Harrisburg; Michael, William-sport; Richard, Robert, Michelle, Keith, Jaime and Jeffrey, all at home; six grandchildren. Owner of Towne Motors in Somerset. Member of Grace Lutheran Church in Stoystown; Somerset Lodge 358 F&AM; Williamsport Consistory; Irem Temple Shrine, Wilkes Barre; and F.O.E. 245 Cumberland, Md.3

    Clarence Minnich, 76, Ephrata Businessman
    Word has been received here that Clarence Minnich. president and chairman of the board of the former Dutchmaid Inc. clothing business, died after being stricken in Philadelphia Saturday evening.
    Minnich, 76, of 424 Manor Drive, Ephrata, was reportedly unloading Iue gage from his car and checking into the Marriott Hotel at the airport when he was overcome about 5:15 p.m. He and his wife were preparing to leave on a cruise.
    Minnich was taken to the Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had been under the care of a physican.
    He was instrumental in the development of the former Dutchmaid, Inc., one of the largest clothing party plans in the United States. He served as president of the company and later was made chairman of the board.
    Born in Sudburg [sic], Schuykill County, he was the son of the late Clinton and Mary Ellen Long Minnich. He had lived in Ephrata since 1937.
    He had been married to the late Dorothea F. Cullather, who died March 16, 1979, and to Elsie Hummel Minnich.
    A former state policeman, he served six years with the Pennsylvania State Police as criminal investigator. He attended Muhlenburg College and the Coin Electrical school, Chicago.
    A man whose favorite motto was, "Know people, like people and understand people," Minnich was involved in many community activities.
    He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Ephrata and the Lancaster County Club.
    Active in Masonic circles, he was a 50-year member of the Ephrata lodge 665 F&AM, the Lancaster Lodge of Perfection and the Reading Consistory. He was active in the Shrine and was a member of Rajah Temple, Reading, was a member and past president of the Lancaster County Shrine club and the Royal Order of Jesters where he was a stafl member and would have become director in 1989. He also was a member of the Ephrata Lodge 1933 BPOE and the Golden Years Club. Ephrata.
    He served as a bank director for more than 29 years, formerly as director of Farmer's National Bank, Ephrata, and then as one of original directors of Susquehanna Bank Shares of the Farmers First Bank. Lititz.
    Survivors, in addition to his wife, are one daughter, Ellen M . wife of John A Rupp, Ephrata; five grandchildren; one sister. Mrs. Ada Schwartz, Pine Grove, and several nieces and nephews.
