• Maud Elnora Klinger and Walter August Dietrich were the parents of Ellen M. Dietrich. Maud apaprently worked as Walter's housekeeper and he fathered her daughter Ellen. According to the 1920 Census, Maud was living in Walter's household as a housekeeper but was listed under her maiden name "Maud E. Klinger."^2,4,5
• The 1920 Census lists Maud and her daughter "Ellen Dietrich" as living in the household of Walter Dietrich in Lykens, Dauphin County, PA. Ellen was listed as Walter's "daughter," while Maud was listed under her maiden name of Klinger as "housekeeper." "Roy" E. Buffington was listed as a "boarder" in the same household.⁶
• Troy Schreiber indicates that Maud and Walter never married and that they separated sometime after 1920.⁴
