    Born Jan. 31, 1925, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late William and Carrie Long Meyers.
    She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont.
    Pauline worked as a secretary for the Pine Grove Area School District.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mark R. Straub; a daughter, Judy Ganly; a son, Ronald M. Straub; a sister, Ruth Mervine.
    Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Wagner, Donaldson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Curtis Zemencik officiating.     He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Ganly. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife of 35 years, Cheryl R. Felty Straub; two sons, Ronald I. Straub Jr., Murfreesboro, Term., and Wade Straub, Hegins; a granddaughter, Makayla Straub; a sister, Carolyn Wagner, Donaldson.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Mary Lou Eckels officiating. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in Donaldson Cemetery.

    Judith Ann was born in Pottsville, Jan. 3, 1954.
    She was a daughter of Mark and Pauline Meyers Straub, Donaldson. She graduated from Pine Grove Area High School in 1972 and for over 16 years was employed by Lady Ester, Berwick.
    She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, taking care others and was an avid fan of race car driver Mark Martin.
    She will be remembered by her husband, Joseph Ganly; four children, Judi Zimmerman, Ashland, Mark N. Zimmerman, Tower City, and Joshua and Sara Ganly, both at home; four grandchildren, Taylor, Abbie, and Haylie Keiser, all of Ashland, and Aaron Zimmerman, Tower City; a brother, Ronald Straub, Hegins; a sister, Carolyn Wagner, Donaldson.
    Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from Bill Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck. The Rev. George R. Bryson, pastor, and Andrew Hager, assistant pastor of Berwick Bible Church, will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Joseph Jude Ganly Jr., 45, of Berwick, ended his journey in this life suddenly Saturday in Berwick Hospital Center.
    Born in Pottsville, Feb. 24, 1961, he was the only child of Joseph J. Sr. and Bonnie Griffiths Ganly. He was a 1979 graduate of Minersville High School.
    For many years, he was employed by Bemis Company Inc., Valmont Industrial Park, West Hazleton.
    He was a member of West Berwick Fire Company, Teamsters Union, Trout Unlimited, and a midget football coach for 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing especially fly fishing.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Judith Ann Straub Ganly, on Aug. 24, 2005.
    Besides his parents, he will be remembered by his two children, Joshua and Sarah Ganly, at home; two stepchildren, Jodi Lyden and Mark N. Zimmerman, both of Ashland; six grandchildren, Taylor, Abbie and Hayle Keiser and Jacqua-lin Lyden, all of Ashland, and Aaron and Allie Zimmerman, both of Pottsville.
    A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from Heller Funeral Home, Nesco-peck, with the Rev. George R. Bryson, pastor of Berwick Bible Church, officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

    Dean was an Eagle Scout and past Scoutmaster for Troop 185 in Tremont. He served, for many years, on the Tremont Borough Council and had been a past president of the council.
    He was an avid hunter, fisherman and was a dedicated NASCAR and Eagles fan.
    He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence, Mark, David and Lester Straub; and two sisters, Ailene Fegley and Helen Klinger
    Surviving are a sister, Esther Culbert, New Jersey; and a brother, Delbert Straub, Pennsylvania.

    State police held his wife Mary 24 the mother of their four children on a homicide charge.
    Police said Schreiber a box company employe and his wife visited several taprooms after attending the races at Delaware Park yesterday. Attentions allegedly paid Mrs. Schrieber by other customers at a Brandywine Manor tavern led to a quarrel.
    The argument continued after they reached their home at nearby Corner Ketch, Mrs Schreiber told police. Sh e said he went to another room returned with a 22 calbire rifle and told her to shoot him.

    Man Killed In Struggle With Wife Over Rifle
    DOWNINGTOWN, Pa., Today (INS) -- John A. Schreiber, 28-year-old father of four, was shot to death today during a scuffle with his wife, Mary, over the possession of a .22-caliber rifle.
    The rifle went off in the struggle in the living room of their Downing-town home, wounding him in the abdomen. He died less than an hour later in Chester County Hospital.
    Police said the couple had been to a taproom near their home last night and quarreled over the attentions to Mrs. Schreiber by other customers in the place.
    The argument continued when they arrived home shortly after 2 a.m. Mrs. Schreiber, an attractive brunette, said her husband got a rifle and handed it to her, telling her to shoot him. Then they started to struggle over the weapon, she said.
    The wife, who said she does not remember the shot, was slated at the Coatesville State Police bar racks on a homicide charge.

    Surviving are four sons, Roy and Carl of Halifax, Ray of Gratz, Marlin and his wife, Darlene of Elizabethville; three daughters, Anna Williard and her husband, John and Darlene Sostar and her husband, Roger, both of Halifax, Elsie Welcomer and her husband, William of Gratz; three brothers, Ray Schreiber of Harrisburg, Calvin Schreiber of Millersburg, and Robert Schreiber of Newport; two sisters, Edith Schreiber and Cora Rupp, both of Millersburg; 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 6 great- great grandchildren.
    Services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11 a.m., at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax. Viewing will be on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.

    Mark O. Schreiber, 65, of 315 Wiconisco St, Wiconisco, died Thursday in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
    Born in Millersburg, he was a son of Lillie Klinger Schreiber, Tower City area, and the late Mark Schreiber.
    Mr. Schreiber was a Marine veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, both in Millersburg.
    Surviving, in addition to his mother are six sisters, Dorothy Barry, Fisherville, Ethel Gandles, California, Edith Schreiber, Millersburg, Cora Rupp, Shickshinny, Loretta Troxell, Erdman, Myrtle Faulkrode, Millersburg area; three brothers, Ray, Halifax, Calvin, Millersburg area, and Robert, Tower City area.
    Funeral services were held this afternoon at Riverview Memorial Park, Halifax. The Rev. Arthur Sonnenberg officiated. Corl-Dreisigacker Funeral Home Inc., Tower City, had charge of arrangements.

    She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Elizabethville.
    Surviving are her husband John Williard; two brothers Carl Barry of Halifax and Marlin Barry of Elizabethville; two sisters Elsie Welcomer of Gratz and Darlene Sostar of Halifax; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers Roy and Ray Barry.
    The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Friday, July 10th at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. Services will begin at 11 am with burial to follow at Longs Cemetery in Halifax.
