He was exceedingly bright and for several years was employed as clerk in the general store of Richard F. Mosser, at Hegins.

A few days later the same paper reported that "Dr. Frederic Haigh, 71-year old Hollywood physician, and Miss Mabelle Schwalm, 51, Los Angles, were married here [Ontario] today [November 5] by Judge J.F. Hamilton in his chambers at city hall.2,5,6

    Schwalm Dies In Snowstorm
    Roswell Jacob Schwalm, sixty-nine, 434 S. Ann St., secretary-treasurer of the John S. Groff Inc., Cadillac and Oldsmobile dealers, was fatally stricken while walking to work in deep snow this morning.
    He was found lying in the street in front of the Groff salesroom, 625 E. Orange St., at 7.05 a. m. and was taken by city police to the General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Eugene Smith, intern.
    Dr. Gilbert N. Clime, deputy coroner, said death was caused by a heart attack.
    Schwalm, who began with the Groff firm in 1924 as a bookkeeper, was made secretary-treasurer in 1947.
    Born in Hegins, a son of the late Samuel E. and Ellen V. Geist Schwalm, he was a member of First Reformed Church.
    Surviving are his wife, Marie Terese Rothermel Schwalm. one daughter, M. Elizabeth, wife of Herbert M. Denlinger, Lancaster: three grandchildren and these sisters and brothers, Theodore R. and Mrs. Mary E. Schultz, both of Lancaster; Elvin R., Fleetwood, and Grace K., wife of Elmer Quade, Philadelphia.

    Marie Elizabeth Denlinger of Enola, widow of Herbert Myers Denlinger, was taken peacefully into the arms of our Lord on August 31, 2005.
    She was bom in Lancaster on June 24, 1921, the daughter of Marie Rothermel and Roswell J. Schwalm. She was a graduate of McCaskey High School class of 1939 and Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She was a member of West Shore Baptist Church, Camp Hill. Married for 53 years, Marie was a devoted wife and mother. When not caring for her family she enjoyed books, gardening, crafts travel and volunteer work at her church and local hospitals. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, her love for animals and her delight in the simple pleasures of life: home, family and friends.
    Surviving are 2 sons, John of St. Louis, Missouri and Roswell of Enola; 1 daughter, Christine Kime of Harrisburg; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Myers-Hamer Funeral Home, Camp Hill. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, TUesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

    John Claire Duffey of Millersville entered into rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Conestoga View following an extended illness. Born in Lancaster on November 5, 1927, he was the son of the late J. William Duffey and Ada (Miller) Duffey.
    For 35 years, John was employed at an automotive parts store and, upon retiring, worked at John Herr's Village Market. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church (Millersville). John had been actively involved in the Borough of Millersville, having served as mayor and borough councilman. He had also been involved with the Millersville Lion's Club.
    Surviving besides his wife, Janice (Brenneman) Duffey, are daughters Kathleen Harlan, Florida and JoAnn Hendricks, Lancaster; son Daniel, Rome, Pa; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, William and Paul, Lancaster, and Donald, Florida and Alvin, Millersville.
    A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 163 West Frederick Street, Millersville on July 7, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of choice. Lancaster New Era 6/22/2006.2

Harlan; her children, Stephanie Carbone, Elizabeth Harlan and William Harlan Jr; eight grandchildren; brother, Daniel Duffey; sister, JoAnn Hendricks; mother, Janice Duffey; and countless friends.
    Kathy was a vibrant and active woman. After a 35-yr. career with AT&T, she and her husband fulfilled their dream of moving to Florida. There, she enjoyed playing tennis, volunteering at Hospice, walking guide dogs and teaching piano to children. Kathy and Bill enjoyed many trips including visits to Ireland and Alaska.
    Friends and family will miss Kathy's upbeat and friendly personality, her kindness, generosity and bright smile. A celebration of her life will be held on February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church in Branford, CT.
