    Born in Dornsife, April 11, 1925, he was a son of the late John and Katie Miller Lohr.
    He was a sawmill owner and the owner of the former Lohr's Cycle Shop.
    He served as a Hubley Township supervisor and roadmaster for more than 20 years.
    He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
    He was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Elias, Adam, William, Francis and James Lohr; two sisters, Emma Schreffler and Maude Lenker.
    Surviving are his wife, Elsie I. Klouser Lohr, to whom he was married 62 years; a son, Steven S. Lohr and his wife, Patti, Hegins; a daughter, Dr. Georgetta D. Lupold and her husband, Lanny, Valley View; three grandchildren, Dr. Chris P. Lupold, Charlottesville, Va., Amy Lupold Bair, Olney, Md., and Brittany M. Lohr, Hegins; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Noah Bair.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento, Pa.

    Born in Spring Glen, May 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late James D. and Jemima R. Klinger Klinger.
    She was a 1941 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
    She was a seamstress in area garment factories and had also worked at the former Mitchell's Bakery, Valley View.
    Bette was a very active member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
    Bette volunteered for Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, Diakon Volunteer Home Care and the Hillside SPCA.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Bixler, in 1989.
    Surviving are two sisters, Lena M. Kessler, Millersburg, and Emma Starr, California; nieces and nephews; and friends, David and Sandra Thomas, Valley View, Brooke Ellinger, Hegins, and Dave, Carla and Tiffany Bohner, Valley View.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
    Memorial contributions can be made to Hegins Area Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 678, Valley View, PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
