    Annie Mabel (Scheib) Decker, 89, formerly of Conestoga, entered into rest Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Born September 5, 1919, in Gratz, PA, she was a daughter of the late Vernon A. and Eva M. (Kissinger) Scheib. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Decker.
    Mrs. Decker was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lancaster. She was employed as a waitress at the Hotel Brunswick for many years, and she also owned Ann's Beauty Shop in Lancaster, and later Millersville, for 17 years. Annie held memberships at the James Buchanan Chapter #321 Order of the Eastern Star, the Amaranth #70, and the Order of the White Shrine #36. In her free time, Annie enjoyed singing, especially at Masonic Village, traveling, knitting, and needlepoint.
    Mrs. Decker is survived by her son, James L. Sundy, of Harrisburg; her daughter, Cynthia, wife of Jack Loeffler, of Clarksville, Tennessee; her stepsons: Robert A. Decker, of Houston, Texas, and G. Richard, husband of Patricia Decker, of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Ruby Sherry; a brother, Stanley Scheib; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Annie was preceded in death by a son, Carl Sundy, and two sisters: Margaret Herb and Ethel Knorr.
    Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Gundel Funeral Home, 415 North Duke Street, Lancaster, with Rev. William J. Keeler officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Saint Mark's United Brethren Cemetery in Spring Glen, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 630 Janet Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. The Gundel Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Ruby was born in Gratz, Aug. 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Vernon and Eva Kissinger Scheib.
    She was the widow of John E. Sherry who passed away June 7, 1984.
    She was employed as a factory worker, working in a garment factory and also was employed at the former Spread Eagle Egg Factory in Klingerstown.
    She was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown.
    She was preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Decker, Ethel Knorr and Margaret Herb, and two brothers, Stanley Scheib, and an infant, Elwood Scheib.
    Ruby is survived by two sons, Charles, husband of Elaine Sherry, Hegins, and Randall Sherry, Ashland; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    As per her request, private services with interment in Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown, will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 1128 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, PA 17941.

    DALMATIA -- Carl A. Spotts, 88, of RR1 Dalmatia died Tuesday evening, Feb. 27, 1996, at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
    Mr. Spotts was born March 6, 1907, in Dalmatia, a son of the late Adam and Mattie (Lenker) Spotts. His wife, the former Ethel Bower, died in 1989.
    Before retiring, Mr. Spotts owned and operated a farm for many years in Lower Mahanoy Township.
    A member of Stone Valley Reformed Church, RR1 Dalmatia, Mr. Spotts was also treasurer of the Sunday school for 32 years.
    Surviving are three sons, Robert P. and Donald L., both of RR1 Dalmatia; and Neal L. of Elizabethville; three daughters, Martha E. Renn of Selinsgrove, Shirley P. Snyder of Rebuck and Gloria M. Klinger of Gratz; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd of Dalmatia.
    Mr. Spotts was preceded in death by one son, Russell; and one sister, Stella Hestor.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Stone Valley Reformed Church, RR1 Dalmatia, by the Rev. J. Robert Snyder. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Visitors may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church.
    Arrangements were made by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral, 395 State St., Sunbury.
