    Lamar William Wetzel 77, of 30 North St., Tremont, died Thursday at home.
    Born in Tremont, Dec. 12, 1921, he was a son of the late William T. and Bessie Kissinger Wetzel.
    He was a member of the Coast Guard Reserves during World War II.
    He was a retired engineer for the Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
    He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tremont, and Tremont Senior Citizens.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Bernice A. Davis; four sons, Richard, Orlando, Fla., Kevin, Oley, and Scott and Brian, both of Pine Grove; a daughter, Dori Lyons, York Haven; a brother, William Jr., Mobile, Ala; 10 grandchildren.
    Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First UM Church, Tremont. The Rev. George Marquardt will officiate. Interment will be in German Reformed Cemetery, Tremont. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View is in charge of arrangements.

    Richard Lamar Wetzel, 74, of Huntsville, Ala., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, with his family byhis side.
    Born Aug. 13, 1946, in Tremont, he was the oldest son of the late Lamar W. Wetzel. His mother, Bernice (Davis) Wetzel, is a resident of Providence Place, Pine Grove. He has three brothers, Kevin and his wife, Donna, Fleetwood, Scott and wife, Deb, Pine Grove, Brian and wife, Cathy, Pine Grove, and sister, Dori and her husband, Alan, York Haven.
    He graduated from Tremont High School as class president in 1964. After graduating, he proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a ground radio operator. On Oct. 11, 1969, he married Michele (Bonawitz) Wetzel, of Pine Grove, and they had two sons, Andrew, Germantown,Md., and Chris, Huntsville, Ala. In 2019, his wife, Michele, passed away after 49 years of marriage.
    Over the years, he worked as a lifeguard at Echo Valley Park, Eastern Shooters Distributors Inc., Economy Supply, Kohl Building Products, Simonton Windows and Florida Hospital, Orlando. He was also a member of the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge, Boy Scouts and HawkMountain Council. He loved all their cats over the years, especially Magic and Max, who were also by his side. Rich enjoyed history and loved talking to people.
    Rich will be cremated and interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery alongside Michele, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in his memory may be sent to your local Vietnam Veterans Charity or a charity of your choice, in his memory.
