    John R. Stiely, 71, of Elizabethville passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at UPMC, Harrisburg.
    He was born on Saturday, May 27, 1950, in Mahoning Township, a son of the late Kirby and Gertie Klinger Stiely.
    John was a graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School Class of 1968.
    He was a plumber/pipefitter for Local #520, Harrisburg.
    John was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco.
    He was also a member of the Post 2385 Diamond Jubilee Gratz VFW, as well as the Erdman Sportsmen's Association.
    John loved nothing more than to be with his grandchildren, whether it was fishing or hunting, especially with his grandson Kody, who was always by his side.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, and brothers Larry and Paul Daniels.
    John is survived by his wife the former Debra Stutzman, to whom he was married for 37 years.
    He is also survived by three sons; Eric and wife Kara Stiely of Elizabethville, Jeff and wife Michelle Wertz of Hegins, Mike and wife Jennifer Wertz of Elizabethville; two daughters, Angela and husband Lehr Harner of Big Run; Kimberly and wife Phyllis Bennett of Berrysburg. 12 grandchildren, Hoyt, Holden, Jordan, Lauren, Hayden, Devin, Jillan, Avery, Brody, Kody, Shavon, and Janelle; a sister Sally Hepler of Gratz, and brother Clair Stiely and his wife Lisa, of Lewisberry, as well as several nieces and nephews.
    Services will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Wiconisco on Wednesday April 13, 2022, at 11AM, with Rev. Annette Shutt officiating.
    A visitation for friends and relatives will be held from 10am until time of service at the church.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 519 Pottsville Street, Wiconisco, 17097.
    Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    Gertie M. Stiely, 85, of 131 Fearnot Road, Lykens, died Thursday at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
    Born in Erdman, Nov. 9, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Gurney and Sallie Rebuck Klinger.
    She retired from the former Muskins Shoe Co., Millersburg.
    She was a member of Klingers Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Marlin Daniel, hi 1945; her second husband, John K. Stiely, on Feb. 1, 1982; a brother, Clarence Klinger; two sisters, Ada Troutman and Mabel Sallada.
    Surviving are a daughter, Sally Hepler, Gratz; four sons, Larry : Daniel Williamstown, Paul Daniel RD Herndon, John Stiely, Elizabethville, and Clair Stiely, New Cumberland; a brother, Irving Klinger, Elizabethville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Klingers Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Petruschke will officiate. Interment will be in Klingers Church Cemetery, Erdman. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of arrangements.
