    MRS. SOPHIA HERNER
    Mrs. Sophia Herner, 58, of Hegins, died Tuesday evening at the Pottsville Hospital. She was the widow of Jacob Herner and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Mattrem, of Leck Kill, Northumberland County, where she was born.
    She is survived by these children: Mrs. Edward Kemble and Ray Herner, Hegins; Alvin, of Hubley Twp; Mrs. Daniel Jones, Haverhill, Mass; Mrs. Elmer Gohoe, of Reading. There are two brothers, Samuel, of Rough & Ready and Francis, Sacramento, and a sister, Mrs. Daniel Clark, of Green Brier. There are 12 grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at the A. R. Buffington Funeral Home, at Valley View, with further services in St. John's Evangelical Church at Hegins. Burial will be made at Sacramento in the cemetery of the United Brethren Church.

    Also surviving are a son, William, of Sacramento Star Route; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Tessie Koppenhaver of Spring Glen.
    Services will be held Wednes day at 10 a.m. at the EUB Church at Spring Glen with Rev. L. R. Helt, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be m the parish cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home at Valley View this evening and at the church Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.

    Services for Kathryn Sue Lubold, 84, of 60 Kindred Place, Annville, formerly of Valley View, who died Monday at home, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Spring Glen. The Rev. Franklin McCaslin will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Spring Glen. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
    Born in Spring Glen, Aug. 21, 1917, she was a daughter of the late William I. and Beulah E. Schwalm Klinger.
    She was a retired presser at the former Philmark Manufacturing Co., Valley View.
    She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Missionary Society, was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a choir member.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Sr., in 1986; a brother, William H. Klinger.
    Surviving are a son, Carl W. Jr., Harrisburg; a grandson.
