Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 356 Union Street, in Millersburg on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Karen Atanasoff officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m., Monday, February 11 at the church.

HALIFAX - Paul Richard Schaeffer, 72, of 3118 Peters Mountain Road died Tuesday in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He retired from the former Bell Telephone Co; was a graduate of Lehigh University; an Army veteran of World War II and recipient of five Bronze Stars; chairman of the Dauphin County Vocational-Technical School Authority; a former member of the Halifax Area School Board; a past president of the Twin Valleys Lions Club and Harrisburg/Keystone Chapter, Telephone Pioneers of America; had been a council member, building committee chairman and Sunday school teacher of the former Matamoras Church of God; and was a member of Matamoras Community Church and the Professional Engineering Society of Pennsylvania.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Atland Schaeffer; a daughter, Laura K. Ranck of Deer Lake; a son, Lahn K. of Fayetteville, Ark; two sisters, Sara Jane Blyler of Easton and Mary Lou Dreibelbis of Halifax; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in his church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Long's Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
