    Gladys Bowers Ochs, 97, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.
    Born in Mount Pleasant, Aug. 13, 1914, she was a daughter of the late George Thorne Bowers and Hannah Maurer Bowers Neal. She was last employed by the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing, Tremont.
    She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont, and a past member of the Tremont Senior Citizens.
    She lived in Tremont most of her life. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family, playing dominos, crocheting, playing the piano, reading and working on number books.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1973; a son, Robert, in 2009; sisters, Evelyn Marquardt and Olive Schell; a half brother, Edward Neal.
    She is survived by a son, William A., husband of Joann Ochs; two daughters, Barbara, wife of Kenneth Wolfe, Pine Grove, and Joan E.
    Ochs, Bridgeville, Del; a daughter-in-law, Sue Ochs, West Chester; two sisters, Alma Juritsko, Tremont, and Betty Quesnel, Hampton, Va; eight grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Maureen Duffy-Guy officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont.

    Wilda Frew, 85, of Tremont, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at her home.
    Born Dec. 12, 1936, in Tremont, shewas a daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn McCaughey Ochs.
    Wilda was a 1954 graduate of the former Tremont High School.
    Following graduation, she worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington, D.C., for several years. She was a secretary at the former Miss Pennsylvania Garment Factory, Pottsville, and was also a payroll secretary at the former JE Morgan Knitting Mills.
    She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tremont.
    She enjoyed being surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren, whom she was very proud of. Her hobbies included knitting and playing cards.
    She will be missed by her family andher dog, Peony.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Frew, March 28, 2018.
    Surviving are her three children, Gerald O. Frew, Tremont, Cindy Workman (Jamie), Williamstown, and Scott Frew (Amy), Tremont; three granddaughters,Tiffany Gilbert, Keisha Hummel and Keara Suprock; three grandsons, Jamie Workman II, Scott M. Frew and Steven Frew; nine great-grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Genevieve Leininger, Tremont; nieces and nephews.
    Services will be held at 3p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at the Chapel of DimonFuneral Home Inc., Tower City. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the chapel.     Gerald J. Frew, 83, of Tremont, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at his home.
    Born in Zerbe, Nov. 29, 1934, he was a son of the late George and Marjorie Birmingham Frew.
    Gerald was a 1953 graduate of the former Tremont High School.
    Gerald was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, where he served on the USS Dashiell, earning the rank of 1st class.
    He retired as an electrician from J. Robert Basley and Penn Equipment.
    He was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Tremont, and the Newtown Gun Club.
    Gerald's life revolved around his family; he especially enjoyed watching his grandsons' baseball games. He will be remembered for his outgoing and friendly personality.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded by three brothers, George, Robert and Donald Frew.
    Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Wilda Ochs Frew; three children, Gerald O. Frew, Tremont, Cindy Workman and her husband, Jamie, Williamstown, and Scott Frew and his wife, Amy, Tremont; six grandchildren, Tiffany Gilbert, Keisha Hummel, Keara Suprock, Jamie Workman II, Scott M. Frew and Steven Frew; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
    Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at the chapel.
