    MILLERSBURG- Palmer E. Wert Jr., age 78, of 606 Light St. passed away on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 at the Holy Spirit Hospital.
    He was born in Millersburg the son of the late Palmer and Barbara Wert. Palmer worked for PennDot for 33 years before retiring. He enjoyed being a pilot, riding motorcycles, cb radios and rooting for the West Virgina Mountaineers and Denver Broncos. He was a member of First UM Church in Millersburg and the peppi club at the Millersburg Senior Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and great grandson.
    Surviving are his wife of 49 years Irene Balog Wert; two daughters Melody Rhoads (Michael) of Millersburg and Melissa Wert-Thrush (Jeffrey) of Dauphin; three granddaughters Trista Rhoads (Eric Hackenberg), Makenna and Hannah Thrush; a great grandson Zaden Hackenberg.
    The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday, Jan. 30th at First UM Church in Millersburg. Services will begin at 10:30 am with entombment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Millersburg.     Audrey Joann Wiest, 93, of Palm Harbor, Florida died on June 17, 2026. Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Devona and Edgar Barrett; her husband of 62 years, Carl Lee Wiest; her beloved daughter, Joy Ann Case; three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her son, Jeffrey Wiest of Etters, PA; and her daughter and son in law, Gaye and Jim Staskiel of Denver, CO. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Zachary, Karen, Jennifer, Heather, Lindsay, and Alex in addition to eleven great-grandchildren.
    Audrey earned a master's degree in education from Penn State University and was a fifth grade teacher at Tri-Community School in the Central Dauphin School District for 25 years.
    Audrey moved to Coral Oaks Senior Living located in Palm Harbor, Florida in 2017. She enjoyed a very active social life there and especially enjoyed being an ambassador for new residents. Audrey's joy in life was being a grandma. Her grandchildren have many happy
    memories of the time spent with her and their pappy. Audrey was an avid Penn State football fan and never missed watching a game.
    Burial will be next to her husband at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

    Joy Ann Case, 60, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, at her residence.
    Joy was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of Audrey Barrett Wiest of Palm Harbor, FL, and the late Carl Wiest. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Harrigan and husband Timothy of Dillsburg and Lindsay Pearson and husband Nick of New Cumberland; her brother Jeffrey of Etters, PA; her sister Gaye Staskiel and husband Jim of Clearwater, FL; and her four grandchildren, Josie, Olivia, Avery, and Liam.
    Joy graduated from Cedar Cliff High School and obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Harrisburg Area Community College. She was a registered nurse at HealthSouth in Mechanicsburg for most of her nursing career. She was a talented and passionate nurse who gave everything she had to her profession and, in return, was loved and deeply appreciated by her patients and co-workers. She formerly attended Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill; loved animals, especially her cats; was an amazing cook and baker; and was in her glory at Christmas time listening to Christmas music and baking cookies. There were no limits on Joy’s appreciation of coffee. She could savor a cup anytime, morning, noon, or night.
    Joy’s family will receive friends and family at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 24th, 2023, at the Parthemore Funeral Home in New Cumberland, PA. Services will follow at 3 p.m.
