  She was born in Gratz, PA, the daughter of the late Elmer and Carrie B. Steely Shade.
  She was retired from the former Big Yank shirt factory. She was a member of Simeon's Lutheran Church in Gratz.
  She was the widow of Marlin D. Engle and also preceded in death by a brother Jacob Shade.
  Surviving are her five children Harold Engle of Millersburg, Herbert Engle of Gratz, Donald Engle of Elizabethville, June Snyder of Millersburg, Sandra Reitz of Dalmatia, a sister Edna Lenker of Lykens, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
  There will be a viewing on Wednesday, September 14 from 10-11 a.m. at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. Services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.

  In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters Donna Lehman and her husband David of Sebring, FL, and Vanessa Snyder of Millersburg, a step granddaughter Jami Llewellyn of Camp Hill, step great grandchildren Daniel, Liam, and Piper, brothers Harold Engle of Millersburg, Herbert Engle of Gratz, and Donald Engle of Elizabethville, and a sister Sandra Reitz of Dalmatia.
  She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Jr.
  The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am on Friday, July 29th, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 324 North St. Millersburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Killinger.

Eleanor was retired from Alvord-Plok Tool Co. in Millersburg. She enjoyed garage sales, HSN and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
  Surviving are her husband Richard Smink, Sr; two sons, Richard, Jr. and Larry both of Millersburg; a brother, Rahn Straub of Millersburg; three sisters, Sherry Morgantanski of Lykens, Ann Smeltz of Millersburg and Shawn Welcomer of Halifax; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Joan Kerwin.
