    Ruby Faye Leitzel, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Mount Carmel Nursing Home Saturday March 18th, 2023. She was born in Hegins November 28th, 1930 a daughter of the late Robert F. Fetterolf and Edna A. Keim Fetterolf as well as a sister to the late Marlin E. "Red" Fetterolf and infant brother Robert Fetterolf. She was married to the late John A Leitzel who preceded in her death February 4th, 1995. They were wed in Hagerstown Maryland on December 8th 1951. From then on she was a life long resident of Gratz. She graduated from Hegins Township High School class of 1948 as well as Empire beauty school. She worked as a beautician out of her home for many years where she enjoyed serving and socializing with her many friends and members of her community. In January of 1958 she welcomed her only child, a son Robert J. Leitzel. Ruby was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church of Gratz. While she was at home she enjoyed attending the Millersburg Centers "Peppy Class", weekly church service, various church functions, the Great Gratz Fair, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. Those surviving include, a sister in law Jean Fetterolf, Hegins, daughter in law Cathy Leitzel, Hegins, grandson Cory V. Leitzel Camara (Nicole) of Georgia, granddaughter Nikki A. Snyder (Alexander) of Barry Twp, and two great grandchildren Solomon A. Snyder and Shiloh R. Snyder, Barry Twp, beloved nephews Robert Fetterolf (Debra), Mechanicsburg, and Kevin Fetterolf (Kelsey), Hegins, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, many beloved aunts and uncles, two brothers, and a son. The family would like to thank the staff at Mount Carmel Nursing Home for their love and care of Ruby over the last 4 years. She had joy, laughter, and comfort in her last few years because of the dedicated and kind staff.
    Services will be held at 11am Thursday March 23, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home.
    Friends and relatives are invited to attend a viewing from 10am until the time of service.
    Ruby will be laid to rest at the Union Cemetery, Gratz.

    HALIFAX - Mary Ann (Kerwin) Leitzel, age 74, of Halifax, PA, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at UPMC Hospital in Harrisburg, PA with family at her side.
    Mary Ann was born May 11, 1947, in Dauphin County, to the late Joseph J. and Rose E. Kerwin. She was raised in Lykens, PA and graduated from Williamstown Catholic High School. Mary Ann worked for many years as an Office Manager for Dr. Walter A. Koerber, MD until his retirement.
    The highlight of Mary Ann's life was spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters who lovingly called her "Baba". She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing puzzles, traveling to CT, watching Lifetime movies with her four-legged companion, "Nellie", social outings, Elvis, and being surrounded by family and her many friends.
    Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Jennifer A. Smith (Don) and Shannon R. DeMeulemeester (Rob), son, James (Jimmy) J. Leitzel, and granddaughters, Kathryn V. and Clara R. DeMeulemeester. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James M. Leitzel.

    Born June 10, 1932, in Gratz, a son of the late Lawrence and Alma Moyer Leitzel, he was a retired self-employed truck driver and mechanic. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict with the rank of sergeant 1st class in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Commendation Pendant and Ribbon for Meritorious Achievement.
    Mr. Leitzel is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet F. Bolen Leitzel; two daughters, Susan R. Dunlap of Newburg and Christine E. Stouffer of Orrstown; three sons, Dennis C. of Delaware, Ohio, James E. of Carlisle and Michael W. of Newburg; two brothers, Clair of Gratz and James of Halifax; two sisters, Anna Peiffer and Mary Straub, both of Elizabethville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by four brothers.
    Memorial and military services conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, with the Rev. John E. Byers officiating.
    Friends may call Friday following services in the New Hope United Methodist Church Annex in Newburg.
