    Blanche B. Underkoffler, 89, of Tamarac, FL, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born in Lebanon on February 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Manhart Budy.
    She was a retired bookkeeper for the Burdines Department Store, Ft Lauderdale, FL. Blanche was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ and the Mainland’s Social Center, both in Tamarac, FL.
    Surviving are nieces and nephews. She had been preceded in death by brothers, Anthony, Joseph, and Robert Budy; a sister, Josephine Clark and nephew, Jared S. Peters.
    Funeral services will be private with the Rev. Mary Ellen Beckman, officiating. Interment will be held in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in Blanche’s honor to ACS Relay for Life, Krafty Krew Team, 526 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042.

    Mr. and Mrs. James Arnold of Myerstown were the guests of honor at a 60th anniversary party attended by relatives and friends on Sunday, March 6, at Inn 422 in Lebanon.
    Mr. Arnold married the former Doris Underkoffler on March 10, 1945, in the Texas Aviation Cadet Center in San Antonio, Texas. Chaplain John Reynolds officiated.
    Mrs. Arnold, daughter of the late Dorothy and Vincent Underkoffler, served on the board of trustees of The Good Samaritan Hospital, was active in the hospital auxiliary and served as chairman of the Street Fair in 1973. She also served on the board of managers at Oakview in Lebanon.
    Her husband, son of the late Ella and James Arnold, is a retired sales executive at Lebanon Valley Offset. He served several terms as a member of the board of governors of the Lebanon Country Club.
    The Arnolds attend Unity Church in Palmyra.
    They are the parents of three children: James Jr., Gregory and Eileen, all of Lebanon, and have four granddaughters.

    James J. Arnold, 84, 106 Hearthstone Lane, Lebanon, died Thursday, September 14, 2006, in the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Doris J. Underkoffler Arnold with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in March. He was bom in Lebanon on February 20, 1922, son of the late Jams S. and Ella M. Shott Arnold. He was retired sales executive from the former Lebanon Valley Offset Co. having served several national accounts in the Philadelphia, New Jersey and Lancaster markets. After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1939 he worked for Pa. Central Airlines in Pittsburgh, later Pan Am in Washington, D.C., Florida and Africa. He was a veteran of World War II having enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1944 later being commissioned a second lieutenant. He was a member of the Unity Church Palmyra, Lebanon Country Club where he was the last of the Saturday Noon Foursome. He enjoyed golf, tournament bridge, ballroom dancing and coaching Little League Baseball. The Arnolds returned to Lebanon in 2000 having lived in Florida for 18 years after retiring. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, James J. Arnold Jr., Dr. Gregory V. Arnold and wife Beth, Dr. Eileen Arnold, all of Lebanon; granddaughters, Jaime Steinkamp, Marisa Arnold, Ashley Arnold, Kaila Arnold; great-granddaughter, Emma Steinkamp; and sister Mary Ann Shott, Myerstown. He was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Brabyac. Memorial service Wednesday at noon in the Unity Church, 37 E. Main St., Palmyra, where friends will be received Wednesday beginning at 11:15 a.m. Interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Unity Church, 37 E.
